Consumer Complaint: Sears Credit Card Services sent me an automated letter dated XX/XX/2018 according to a Call Center Representative I spoke with on XX/XX/2018. The letter stated that the reason why they were writing me was due to a recent review of my account ending in XXXX, my Sears Department Store Card Account has been closed. Please do not attempt to use this account no further transactions will be authorized. As a reminder, if you have an outstanding balance, please continue to make your monthly payments by the payment past due date until the balance is paid in full. You are responsible for any outstanding balance according to the terms of your Card Agreement. Please destroy your Sears Card you may have in your possession.
Well now, This account was paid in full back in XX/XX/2018. I was the XXXX XXXX for my ill Father a XXXX Military XXXX XXXX XXXX in the XXXX, North Carolina Veterans Administration Hospital from XX/XX/2018 until passing away on XX/XX/2018. Where did I have time to go out shopping and use this card in order to place an outstanding balance on it? I spoke with both Sears and Citibank Call Center Representatives and told them this related information. Without my permission or authorization my account was CLOSED. Thereby, changing my credit score, and lowering it by 40 points. I am in the process of purchasing a family home with the assistance of the military, and do not need this extra added stress of someone making a business decision for me on my behalf, especially since they are not helping to pay my household debt or bills.
I would like to see my Sears Department Store Credit account XXXX restored in good standing, with the negative Credit Reporting according the FCRA fixed and removed from my credit report to improve my rating.
Sincerely, XXXX XXXX
