Consumer Complaint: Bill was sent to Mom in XXXX. It was an XXXX bill pertaining to a XXXX appt. for my Dad, who died in early XXXX. I called XXXX to see what action should be taken as my Mom doesn’t have the money to pay this bill, and it was my father ‘s bill. They said my mother had to pay the bill. No payment plan was available. Apparently, XXXX then changed the address to my Mother ‘s name to send more bills.
I took the bill and paid it XXXX XXXX. This week Mom got another bill from XXXX ‘s collection agency, Alliance Collection Agencies , Inc. of XXXX WI.
This bill/letter is mostly in ” bold ” print and threatening debt collection judgement against my XXXX year old Mom, and the bill was already paid! I called XXXX and they said they had recieved the check in XXXX, but it was sitting in an ” ink ” account and did not get processed.
What is an ” ink ” account? And why would they not process the check and send it to a collection agency, even though they have their money? This is a bad practice!
