Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I was unemployed and self employed. I attempted to forebear some of my payments and Navient would not allow it. I filled out hardship and forbearance requests and was denied. In XXXX, received Loan Repayment Assistance from my former employer. The company would not let me make payments on defaulted Loan to avoid negative credit reporting. I have paid off one of my private loans in XXXX but was not allowed to make payments on the defaulted loan. The loan has since been charged off.
