Consumer Complaint: I signed up with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. My payments have always been automatically withdrawn from my account. However, in XX/XX/XXXX I noticed the payments stopped coming out. I tried to contact the company and found that the number wasn’t in service. Then I found out that Navient reported to XXXX XXXX that I was delinquent on payments. I was never contact by anyone from either company. After researching with XXXX XXXX I learned that is because XXXX XXXX XXXX changed my contact information to their company in XXXX, TX. I am still researching the multiple TX addresses listed on my credit report. Navient then turned over the loan to the US Department of Education for non-payment. I have now set up a payment plan with them, but the negative affect to my credit has lowered my score to XXXX. My loans also went from {$35000.00} to {$42000.00}. They took advantage of the fact that I have been in survival mode for years. Between losing a job, dealing with my daughter ‘s father ‘s XXXX, then his death … I had to declare bankruptcy, just barely making it yet still paying what I thought was a legitimate company. Come to find out they have taken money, raised my debt, and further destroyed my credit. As I started research I learned that XXXX XXXX XXXX is being sued and investigated as is Navient. I don’t know where to go from here.
