Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I asked to be placed on a repayment plan acceptable by the Loan Forgiveness program. I informed them that I worked for the XXXX XXXX and required the 120 payment set up for the Load Forgiveness program. Navient representatives guided me through the process and placed me on an income based repayment plan they said is acceptable for the Loan Forgiveness program. Seven years into my repayment plan I discovered I was supposed to send in proof of employment so that my years of payments and employment would be verified. Last year ( XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX ) I called the XXXX XXXX XXXX and was informed the income based repayment program Navient placed me on was not recognized in the Loan Forgiveness program. I am currently XXXX years old. I was getting ready to retire after 25 years of XXXX XXXX and I am forced to rethink my retirement date. when I transferred my loan to the XXXX XXXX XXXX, I received a tax form from Navient that documented I paid THEM {$25000.00} in interest and NOTHING towards my student loan balance. I have been making payment to Navient for 20 years and I still have the same balance.
