Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX I contacted CMRE who is a debt collector attempting to collect a debt on a medical bill. They left me a voicemail, I promptly returned their call. I obtained the details of the account when speaking with XXXX, and we worked out a settlement of {$210.00}, a discount from the original balance of {$310.00}. In that particular moment, I was not able to complete the transaction as I had to review my finances and ensure that the {$210.00} would not leave me with no monies for the rest of the month since I only get paid once a month. I advised XXXX I would call back within 48 hours and finalize this. Once I called back on XX/XX/2018, I had the unfortunate displeasure of speaking with ” XXXX ” who was simply rude, unprofessional, distasteful and insulting. I was at a lost for words at the way she was treating me, talking to me, and flat out intimidating me with her tone and inflection. I tried to reason with her, explain to her but kept get getting cut off by her. She was not wanting to honor the {$210.00} pay off quote I was given and was attempting to co-erce me into paying the full amount. I tried to explain to her I could barely squeeze out the {$210.00} and now she is trying to bait and switch me into the {$310.00} – I could not even get a word out. It was her way or the highway. I’m shocked, upset and frustrated. I never want to deal with this person again.
