Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I broke my lease with XXXX XXXX XXXX located in XXXX, TX due to my requirement to go overseas. I provided the leasing office with my orders ( attached ) as well as my forwarding address. 3 months later, I discovered an open collection on my credit report on behalf of the apartment complex indicating that I owed {$210.00}. I called the collection agency NCC Business Service to inquire and was advised that The leasing company reported me for non payment of ” fees ”. My credit report showed date of first delinquency as XX/XX/XXXX, which was not even 30 days after my move out. I had not received a single letter, notification, phone call, NOTHING. I reached out to the leasing office to no avail. I ended up just paying it because, i was afraid of my credit being adversely impacted. I knew that I had the right to dispute the validity of the debt, but was not given the opportunity. Nearly 4 years later, I’m still fighting to get that collection removed from my credit report. I discovered that because i live in Texas, i have the right to request Debt Validation under the Texas Financial Code. I had the letter ( attached ) mailed via USPS to NCC Business Service ‘s address that is listed on my credit report with signature confirmation on XX/XX/XXXX. They have yet to respond. As a result of them not responding within 30 days, that Texas Financial Code states that the tradeline must be removed from my credit report. I’m requesting assistance to get this matter resolved, as I have exhausted all my options. I’ve disputed that account countless times, with no success.
