Consumer Complaint: I received notification that a collection for an amount not owed was placed on my credit by Hunter Warfield. In XX/XX/2015, my wife and I were looking at moving to XXXX from XXXX and we reached out to XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX was the rep, and she told us that they had an apartment that might meet our needs that would be coming up. We had specific concerns due to having dogs and we were not familiar with the area. We were told that she could hold the unit for us for a period of 10 days if we filled the application and paid a {$99.00} application fee ( please see emails below ). We paid the fee and came out the week before XXXX. We were not happy with the unit and decided not to move forward. We told the agent that same day but followed up with XXXX on the XXXX. We never heard anything afterwards until we received a letter from Hunter Warfield. We never signed a lease or agreed to anything beyond the application. Hunter Warfield has not sent us any proof of the debt other then invoices from XXXX XXXX XXXX. The invoices were created weeks after we decided against the apartment and they weren’t signed by us. The email that I will attach will show that at no time were we told of any fees other then the credit application fee of {$99.00} that we paid.

The only proof that Hunter Warfield provided us after we disputed this was Internal Documents created by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Most were created weeks after we decided against the apartment. I have attached all the documents that Hunter Warfield has provided us with and none of it was agreed to before hand. Hunter Warfield claims that they don’t have to prove that we agreed to the charges. They simply wouldn’t remove the debt because their client want us to pay this amount even though we didn’t agree to it.
