Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I spoke with a JPL Recovery Solutions representative named XXXX XXXX ” over the phone. He claimed that I owed more than {$16000.00}. He also claimed that he would be sending paperwork to my employer that same day to begin garnishing my wages unless I immediately agreed to pay a total of {$4300.00}. XXXX also told me that I had to agree to automatic withdrawal from my account, beginning with a payment of {$1000.00} on XX/XX/2018. I agreed to this arrangement because I was scared of getting my wages garnished, even though I have never had any agreement with JPL Recovery Solutions and JPL Recovery Solutions has never given me any documentation showing that I owe them anything. I later received legal advice, and learned that JPL can not legally garnish my wages without a court judgment and order permitting it to do so. JPL lied about the amount I owed and also told me that I had to agree immediately or face garnishment. In fact they aren’t allowed to garnish my wages at all.
