Consumer Complaint: Navient collection agency has been sending extremely important emails to an out dated email adress that I had removed from my account back in XX/XX/XXXX. I had just gotten my student loans out of default. It was then transferred over to Navient. I updated all my contact information including email, address, and phone number. It was then I was told that there was a grace period while they figured out how much my monthly payments would be. Well XX/XX/XXXX comes around and I still hadn’t gotten any form of communication from them. I try to login to their website and naturally forget my information so I recover it and receive emails on my updated email address. When I get on it turns out I’m 4 months behind and have had payments due since XX/XX/XXXX. I was shocked and confused so I log on to my old email address, I don’t use anymore, and sure enough they’d been sending all the payment due emails to that even though that email isnt even on my account anymore. Still as of today, XX/XX/18, they are sending all of the important emails to that account. I’ve been working really hard to get my finances under control and get my credit score up and feel like this is a sneaky tactic to try and keep me in debt to them.
