Consumer Complaint: Back in XXXX XXXX, I was contacted by a Law Firm Collection Agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) regarding a XXXX Account, with an assumed balance of {$1200.00} (??? ) and I stated to the Agency above, that ” I do not owe, this amount of money to XXXX and willing to settle the debt for 70 % of the original amount owed.I know the original amount because I was trying to file Bankruptcy in XXXX, so I had the original balance in the paperwork and I explained this to the Representative.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received the attached letter for XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Attorney at Law ), with the attached credit application, just stating ” this is an attempt to collect ”. I have been trying to work with this credit for a settlement of the original debt, but was told I need to agree to the {$1200.00} before they can agree to an settlement. I stated that this doesn’t sound legal and asked that they return the debt to XXXX and was told they can not do this. The attached letter is what I received and that is all, no other communication.
