Consumer Complaint: I have a mortgage with Mr. Cooper, acct. # XXXX. I had auto payments set up through XXXX XXXX for $ XXXX/mo. I received a statement last month showing that I was short {$240.00} with no explanation and my {$3500.00} was unapplied. I called a few days ago to inquire why the monthly payment was increased and was told that the loan had just adjusted to 5.25 %. I had never received notice of the increase and the person I talked to said it was sent to an address I had not used for 4 years although I have been getting monthly statements to my current address for almost a year. She emailed the rate/payment change notice and I have paid the new payment for XXXX as well as the XXXX shortfall. I found out during a loan application that Mr. Cooper had already reported a delinquency to the credit bureaus several weeks ago which caused me to get turned down by a lender who had approved a loan 1 % lower prior to this report and I wound up having to go with another lender at a higher rate.
My complaint is that I had no knowledge of the rate increase since notice was mailed only to an old address ( presumably returned to the sender ). I did not receive any notification by phone or mail but instead reported to the credit bureau which has cost me about {$7000.00} a year on the new loan.
