Consumer Complaint: NYSHESC has not provided me with a detailed accounting history of my account, which I demanded in my previous complaint, as well as in my letter to the Governor, which I copied to NYSHESC.

NYSHESC is also continuing to deny that they have illegally overcharged my account in XXXX of XXXX, adding over {$1300.00} to my balance, above and beyond the principal, interest, and $ 1,200+ collection fees, which they did as they concurrenty applied a payment to my account from my garnished XXXX New York State taxes.

NYSHESC is continuing to refuse my very reasonable settlement offer, which is to pay the full principal balance, plus interest accrued, minus the adjustment of payment applied from my XXXX New York State tax refund.

I sent NYSHESC and XXXX two 20 pages faxes detailing my offer, and my financial hardship. Rather than work with me after I have so carefully compiled and supplied them with extensive documentation for my case, they choose to blow me off and continue gouging me, adding insult to injury.

This is the first year I have been in any way shape or form able to begin settling my debts, and I am fighting for my life to get on my feet financially. What I do not appreciate from this predatory and dishonest company is a kick in the face while I’m down.

I fear that NYSHESC will only continue to illegally add money to my account that I do not owe indefinitely.

And so at this point, I am consulting with a lawyer, and spending the money I hoped to save for my daughter ‘s XXXX presents, to avoid a lifetime of indebtedness to a company that exhibits no care or concern to help me settle my debt.
