Freedom Debt Relief – Consumer Complaint – March 28, 2019

Consumer Statement:

I have been with freedom debt thinking this was the best solution for me. However, I have far realized in the since Aug all this has made me do was put me further in to debt. I tried to cancel with them on 3/21. One account had an agreed settlement. My account has $536 balance they will not give me a refund of that amount. I have to wait till that payment clears to at least get it paid before I cancel.

They told me to let ALL my payments default so they will go into collections. If you look on their website it’s also listed under “Can you settle credit card debt if you are still current?” IT STATES: Letting your payments go into default is a good way to do this. Once your creditors understand that you are unable to pay in full, they are more likely to accept a reduced amount as settlement. Please DO YOU RESEARCH!!!! there are better ways than this scam. I have paid them over 1,800 in the last 6 months. I have called all my credit card companies to figure out a plan to pay them down. They will agree to settle with you. Furthermore, Freedom Doesn’t tell you that certain companies will not settle with them, such as Chase, Macys. They WAIT till they are in collects. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT SIGN. Nov 8, 2017 – — The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today filed a lawsuit against Freedom Debt Relief!!!
