Direct Relations – Consumer Complaint – December 31, 2019

Consumer Statement:

I was contacted by a debt relief company Direct-relations CMA solutions. I listened to their pitch and was interested because this past year has been had on me financially and I have accrued more debt then I’m proud to admit. So I was interested in their help.

I agreed to pay them $870 to have them help reduce the interest on my credit cards to help pay them off faster. Two days later I was presented an opportunity to purchase my late grandmothers house. So I decided to deal with my finances a different way. And no longer wanted their debt assistance.

I called them right away and told them I wished to cancel since I hadn’t yet received any assistance from them. The Manager of the company Sara got on the phone and asked if I would wait 2 weeks to see how the house stuff planned out before I made a decision and all services would be put on hold. I agreed.

Sara set up at time and date she would call me back to discuss my decision. But, she never called. I waited a week after that before calling her back questioning why she didn’t call. The secretary answered and said Sara wasn’t available but, my refund was processed. My refund was never processed.

Consumer Action Taken:

I called the company many times trying to get in touch with Sara. She was never there when I called and and never returned my calls either. Eventually my calls would be sent straight to voicemail or I would be left on hold for 20-30 minutes before hanging up myself.

I waited and called intermittently over the next month. With the same response or lack of. I had also asked for the direct line which I could reach Sara at to discuss the refund that was supposedly processed. But, I was told by the secretary she didn’t have a direct number to give me.

Their website direct-relations.[com] only has one phone number in which to contact the company. Eventually I just went through my bank and had to dispute the charge.

  1. File a complaint with the BBB. When researching these companies that seems to be the only thing that works. How did the program work?l
