Thank You For Suggesting I Contact HELPS. So Kind.

Question:

Dear Steve,

A while back, I contacted you regarding my living on disability and being unable to pay the increased interest rates on my cards.

You recommended HELPS Nonprofit Legal Services.

These people are fantastic.

They contacted each creditor and let them know they represent me.

The services are free for certain income levels.

I pay $30.00 a month. You can get a law firm for $30.00 a month.

These people are friendly on the phone and have an excellent rating with the Bar Association.

I read your emails that I get every day. Fantastic information.

I highly recommend HELPS to anyone.

Once again, thanks for the time to read my initial email and recommendation for HELPS.

Ken

Answer:

Dear Ken,

I think it is incredible you took the time to give me feedback on your experience with HELPS. Eric Olsen, the attorney behind HELPS, is a great person who works hard to assist so many disadvantaged people.

The nonprofit law firm is a blessing for people with disabilities or living on a fixed income.

Sincerely,

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

  1. Thanks Steve. The only thing I would add is that after a year, the suggested payment would be $10 per month. Many clients pay less than this for our help. We are a 501c charity. No qualified person is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. One out of four of our clients receives our service for free. We don’t want our clients to worry. They can call us whenever they want with questions or assurance. Eric HELPS
