I have been with Contego Law for over 3 years now and they’ve been withdrawing 366 dollars from my checking account each month for those three yrs and they settled one account out of three for a little over $5,000. Last year I got a summons to go to court from another creditor, that they were going to garnishee my wages. I contacted Contego Law and they told me not to go and not to worry about it that they would take care of it, then this past December my wages were garnisheed. I contacted the Law firm and they told me that I had a couple of options which were to let them keep drawing the $366 from my account or bankrupt. They still have a little over $7,000 of mine and are only going to send me back a 1,000 of it. I’m now in worse shape than I was to start with because after the money is taken out of my wages for the garnishement I’m only drawing $150 a week to live on. I could’ve bankrupted 3 yrs ago but was under the impression that Contego Law was going to help me save my credit, but all they did was sell me faulse hope.
I have been with Contego Law for over a year. The customer service has been helpful and if I have sent in an email they have both responded and Called me back until I answered. I think the fees are quite high 69.99 + 49.99 for the first year and Now 49.99 monthly for the second year. It makes me wonder if I’m paying them this much just to put my money in a savings account at this point, but they did settle my first account at 40% and we are about to settle on the second account. I have one left, but am wondering if I want to finish out the program or just put the money in the account myself and try to negotiate it. At first the bill collecters will not stop calling and that is scary, but once you get over that hump and they go through contego it is better. So far it has been an Okay experience. They contact you when things have been settled or when they’re ready to negotiate etc etc.
