THEY SUCK LIKE LEECHES WILL TAKE UR MONEY AND NOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU EXCEPT GET YOU DEEPER INTO DEBT GET OUT AND CUT YOUR LOSSES NOW
I wish I had read about them before I signed up, they are scam artists, I was told that if I paid $431.37 a month for 3 years not a penny more I would be out of debt, after the 1st year I received a court order from one of my debtors that I was being sued, LLW hadn’t even contacted my debtors, all in all they took close to $4500 from me before they even tried to settle my debts, so I ended up paying much more than I was told, if you can use a different company if u have already signed up with llw close out ur account with them and go elsewhere, they are just a scam company
I just want to clearly state for the record here. If anyone has any positive information they want to share about this company, you are welcome to post it. As the title says, praise is welcome as well.
Without a doubt one of the biggest legal scams in North America.I was given a 2 year settlement date and now after 3 years they have finally gotten my debits settled.I have had to call many times to get action ,they allowed 2 accounts go to wage attachments after a lot of notice before hand ,many different case managers, and now they have overdrawn my bank account by $ 461.00, and they claim it will take 7 to 14 days to rectify. I have several more incidents that I could cite.
There is no way I would ever reccomend this group to anyone for anything.
Stay as far away as possible from Lloyd Ward. They take your money, mismanage your funds and you end up being sued, having wages garnished and feeling more broken than you ever were before. They provide very little assistance. You never get them to return emails or calls. Oh and the program fees are supposed to stop after a period of time, but don’t. They ought to be ashamed for doing this! I can’t even believe it’s legal at all! I wish we never would have invested our time and money into this firm. They reap the benefits while poor struggling people have to deal first of all with hardships that are not always their fault, such as job loss. Or people who already are having a hard time putting food on the table. We are good, honest people. Sure we made some mistakes, but thought we were doing good by at least trying to pay our creditors something (who by the way probably already got what we owed them and then some after the outrageous interest rates they charge) rather than filing bankruptcy. I seriously cannot believe these people can sleep at night! Judgement Day is coming, Lloyd Ward. Stop the hurting!

Mine was with noteworld now is with global client solutions. Same as noteworld
I have been with loyd ward now for two years and at this point they have done everything that my contract with them calls for. The payment for their services stopped this month just like it was suppose to. They have paid off three credit cards for me at a savings of 12000 dollars.
Might change my mind after I talk to them next week since they are now doing their own negotations.

This group took $400 a month from my account, did nothing for two years, when the companies I owed money to started calling I was told to settle for 80% not the advertised lower percentage, when I was summoned to court the group left me out on a limb.
They no longer answered phone calls, e-mails etc.
But they continued to take my money until I closed the account.
Now I am facing judges who are ordering me to pay $35 a week on my past due accounts
I am in financial ruin…….
Lloyd Ward helped me get further in debt than when I started, their costs and fees for doing nothing is in my opinion criminal
I will gladly join any group that wants to file a class action lawsuit against these people
Lloyd Ward are Scam Artists and prey on people who are depending on them for help with debts. They lost contact with two of our creditors and now we cannot contact them to pay of our debts. Also, we paid them thousands in program fees and they only paid off 62% of our accounts. We tried to get a portion of our program fees back because they didn’t do the job they promised. After numerous calls and some letters, they still refuse to give us our fees back. We held up our end of the agreement and they didn’t. Also, their customer service is awful, and you will be lucky if they return your calls. We are filing complaints with the Texas State Attorney’s office, the Texas Bar, and the BBB.
Keep us all posted on what happens.
I am using LLoyd and Ward and they her paid off one of three of my accounts for less then half of what I owed.
I have not heard anything from the other two accounts in a very long time. No phone calls or letters since I started with L&W.
I just checked my account with them and I have paid all my fees and now all my money except $35.00 a month is going into my account.
I have had good luck with them.
Thank you for your feedback.
Debt settlement is a complicated and long process. No company will do all the work for you, and it is important to stay on top of things with them. LW &A was able to settle several of my debts for around 28% of the total amount, saving me over 60 grand. You should know that your debt won’t likely be settled before being sent to a collection agency. And, any forgiven debt will be counted as taxable earned income. Be smart, but don’t give up on LW & A or other agencies after only a few months. These settlements take a couple of years typically.
Debt settlement is not a complicated process.
Forgiven debt WILL NOT be counted as taxable earned income for many people if they are deemed technically insolvent. See IRS Publication 908, page 24:
Insolvency exclusion. A debtor is
insolvent when, and to the extent, the debtor’s liabilities exceed the FMV of
the assets. Determine the debtor’s liabilities and the FMV of the assets
immediately before the cancellation of the debtor’s debt to determine whether
or not the debtor is insolvent and the amount by which the debtor is insolvent.
Exclude from the debtor’s gross income debt canceled when the debtor is
insolvent, but only up to the amount by which the debtor is insolvent. However,
you must use the amount excluded to reduce certain tax attributes, as explained
later under Reduction of Tax Attributes.
The form 982 can be viewed on page 27 at the
same IRS Publication 908 link. Seek advice from a tax professional if you are unsure whether forgiven debt resulting from your settlements last year should be treated as a taxable event, or whether you are “technically insolvent”.
Share the link above with your tax pro. Not all professionals will be aware of this area of the tax code.
they trick me and rip me offffffffff
We started with Lloyd Ward at the end of 2009 after a failed business. Yes, we have paid them $4400 for their services and they are very hard to communicate with, but we have settled 3 of our largest accounts with 2 more small account to go. I will not pretend to say that they are a good company as I have had to do a lot of work myself and badger them to keep the communication going, but they have settled our accounts for 25% to 45% of the actual amount owed. We estimated that we would be done in 36 months, but it looks like we’ll be free of the creditors in about 30 months. We have added some extra funds in order to get a better settlement or get a faster settlement, but this was explained to us upfront. We knew what we were getting into when we signed up, as they answered all of our questions and explained how the program worked. Most people want their cake and eat it too! Don’t expect that if you owe someone money! We got ourselves into debt and we are responsible for that debt…no one is to blame but ourselves. Don’t expect an “easy way out” if you sign up. Take responsibility for your debt and if you need a little help getting organized and can’t negotiate for yourself, then have an outside party help you out. If I had to do it all over, I probably would’ve negotiated the settlements myself, but remember, creditors WILL NOT negotiate a “great” settlement until you are grossly overdue (6mos. to 2 yrs.)! Your credit score will suffer not matter what, they will badger you no matter what and you’ll eventually have to negotiate something. Your debt will more than likely be “sold” to numerous creditors before they are “desperate” enough to offer a good settlement. When it comes to debt and trying to settle debt, it doesn’t come easy and there are NO short cuts. Make an informed decision and take responsibility for yourself and don’t blame others for the mess that you have gotten yourself into! I am just an average American with a wife and 3 kids that made some bad decisions and needed a little help. I am not paid by Lloyd Ward, don’t live in Texas and have no association with them except I am using there services to get out of $30,000.00 of debt. As I said before, my experience with Lloyd Ward hasn’t been great, but they have done their job and settled our debt. It hasn’t been smooth, I have had to do A LOT of my own work, the communication has been poor at times, but they have settled our accounts. I have never used another debt settlement company or another law firm for that matter, so I can’t compare Lloyd Ward to any other law firm or debt settlement company. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Tone’ P.
I put money in Ward trust account–I got a NSF back–never has paid. NO Excuses–just threats I will turn you in to the IRS.
What are you going to do sue a Lawyer? Check out the clients who have had disputs with him and the lawsuits he is in–then of course there are those what we don know about–it is just the tip of a ICEBERG!
if you want to loose alot of money and absolutely get no satisfaction, have people lie to you, never answer you and definately go to court and get additional fees attached to your bills then use lloyd Ward and Associates. I have ended up in court after they swore they would take care of all bills. i ended up paying additional thousands plus court fees and attorney fees. Do Not get scamed by this group they are no good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ALL ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS COMPANY. WHY DON’T YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND SUE THEM, CONTACT GOVERNMENT OFFICES ACCOUNTABLE FOR REGULATING THEM, CONGRESSMAN, VISIT THERE OFFICES, ETC. ALL THE CHATTER IS NOT GOING TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK AND THAT’S A GUARANTEE!
Well said!
Same thing is happening here. My credit score was 750 , then I had a credit Capital One said because I was a day late they raise my interest rate. My rate went for 1.9% to over 9%.After year of struggling the corrected their mistake and reimbursed me interest however the damage was already done) My payments double. With all my other credit card debt it killed me. I struggle paying. I finally said enough. I seen Lloyd Ward Associates. I didn’t want to go with a “company” I thought a law firm would be better. Did what they said. Now to make a long story short after $3000 , and now being sued by 1 creditor I have realized I got screwed. Now I want to go to BBB. I want my money back so I can pay my creditors. I have sent emails and I am being ignored at this point. I have asked for copy of all paperwork that they sent my creditors and I have received nothing!!!
I wish I had read these reviews before I got involved with the Lloyd Ward Group. I’ve been with them for 8 months and they have done nothing. However, all my payments were deposited with a trust administered by Noteworld. If this is the case with the rest of you, you can get your money back. Noteworld is a separate company from Lloyd Ward. All you have to do is call 1-800-535-9192 and tell them you are closing your account with Lloyd Ward and want your money returned. They will oblige. If you can’t get anyone on the phone at Lloyd Ward, just e-mail them at customercare@lloydwardgroup.com and tell them you are closing your account.
lloyd ward and assosiates are crooked from the word GO. they took 6000.00 dollors from me to pay my credit card debt, well needless to say they did not pay my debts, but they still took my money and I want it back, can anyone HELP me with this please please help me.Sandy H

Well, As for all of the negative posts…..You did not put any effort in obviously……Every time I called into customer service I had a call back promptly…..As for them just taking money….Ummmm, they are lawyers, they represent and negotiate for you…ITS NOT FREE!!!!! As for settlements, they have already negotiated two accounts…. One was negotiated for 31% of the balance owed and the other 35%…..They have saved me close to $3400.00 already and I have the settlement offers to prove it….Maybe if you gave it time, it would work….As for dealing with creditors on your own, yes they will settle at 50% all day long… You better know what they are settling for and the letters that are sent….Lloyd Ward carries the responsibility of legal issues…Maybe the reason they are called LAWYERS and yes maybe you are not aware of tis but LAWYERS charge FEES!!!!! Get over it and get out of debt!!!

I am a reporter working on a story about people who have scammed by lenders or debt resolution companies. At this point, I am
trying to identify a couple of individuals who would be willing to share their
experience with companies that follow an ‘attorney model’ to evade the Debt
Settlement Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits companies from collecting
upfront fees before settling debt. Some of the most prominent companies that do
so include Legal Helpers and Morgan Drexan.
Â
If you are willing to share your experience, please shoot me an email: sgao@publicintegrity.org by 6/22/11. Thanks!
It appears Lloyd Ward and Associates is now involved in a new enterprise. See this article.
Yes we are in debt…that’s why we hired LWA…duh! Usually when you pay someone money…you get something in return, right? Go figure!
I had to call my own debt collectors…I thought I was paying 300+ dollars for LWA to do that! Ha! Not!!! What a fricken scam!!!
Jamie, you must be one of the Peeons making $8/hr that the 6-figure guys gave you a bonus for publishing this post….looks to me like the majority have experienced the same heartache…putting trust in a company who doesn’t help and is only concerned about their own welfare and not putting their customers first…I hope this website stops the twisted people behind it!!!!
Are you one of the many people who we try to contact and get no reply, or when we call a contact number, guess what?…we get another person…or when we email someone…we get someone else to answer? What a bunch of garbage! You’re probably one of the peeons getting paid $8/hr while the big guys play golf and make 6-figure incomes! Dirty rotten scoundrals!!!
You should go to the media…sounds to me like a bunch of rotten-to-the-core rich lawyers who steal poor people’s money and go play golf!
Jen
Im going thru the same, my point of contact (third one) with Lloyd I had to inform of my trail coming up that she did not know about. It seems like either people come and go with Lloyd or they just stack your file in the corner of a “To Do List” on top of a garbage can. The last two point of contacts just disappeared. I have been sending emails and phone calls and no response.  Typical of Lloyd, YES I’m complaining cause this is it, This weekend I’m writing my formal termination letter to these folks and making my calls to my bank and global client. Â
People rading these post….. These complaints are true facts. Seek else where. You might be better off dealing with it yourself with the creditors or the hired collector. You can negotiate. I’m new at this crap and god willing will never do this again. But the very little conversation I’ve had with Lloyd is they speak to the debt collector to negotiate a settlement. This can be done and we can do it. this is my next step, I submitted these letters to LG and they call them to settle. I had a few which I had in my global client account and LG didn’t follow up. So, why do we need them.  I should of acted and wrote that check.  I reached out to LG to ask questions why and NO ONE ANSWERS OR RETURNS MY CALL. My official termination letter to LG is going out Monday.Â
Again people do yourself favor DO NOT USE THEM…….
Radtech
It seems like your out numbered with complaints here. Makes me wonder if you are one of them. I also too noticed the same individuals keep posting the same lies here as you do. I have had no cooperation with Lloyd. Seeing the complaints here are no different than what I’m going thru. Lloyd Group should be taken to trail for fraud. They are just stealing money from people and provide no services. ITS all a JOKE. Lloyd I will be going to every possible site I can go one and complain and let people know about your crap of services… This I will do
Jolsen
What are you going to do the same BS I recieved from everyone in Lloyd Group. You people do not follow up. Your crooks and should be taken to trail for robbing everyone for services not provided.
Ron
Get out if you could and seek else where I have had no service what so ever. This group Stinks Bad.. REAL BAD. Comments you are reading here are accurate. I’m getting out to, I called called called and when asked questions all I got is there attitudes. This is not how business is done. If you’re paying for a service you have the right to know. If you filled out the automatic withdrawal and looking to get out. Make sure you send them an email and a letter via regular email canceling any further services. Call your bank to stop any automatic withdrawals and send your cancelation application to Global Client. I’m in the midst of doing the same. These people SUCK they are just stealing everyone’s money for there own profit for no . This is illegal and looking to see what I can do besides calling the state bar, BBB, blogs post my own warning’s on craigslist, backpage and where ever i can and link this site to them for people to be aware of this SCUM for a company
Melissa I have to agree with you the Lloyd people are dropping the ball on my file. I just found his site while doing a search for there office number and saw this and read this site. I am disgusted with these people they just take monies from people and no service. I have never dealt with this before and looked at these guys for help and got no where. For all of you people reading this site. Lloyd Group is the wors. People I have dealt with Janet Ortega-Arthur Raymond-Keith Hunn-Oscar Arguilar. These individuals only talked with once and that’s it this group has taken thousands of dollars which i should of turned around and used for the settlement letters recieved. I could off been half way done with my file. These people are crooks… STAY AWAY
I used lloydward & associate with them 18 months sued by Citi bnk act they didn’t pay a singal penny to any creditor. Be careful with them.

Mel, check out this article to rebuild your credit. It’s stupid easy to do and important to your financial life moving forward.
Oh and by the way…you could probably stop paying your creditors, put the money away, be harassed just as much and settle your own debts without the administration fee paid to Lloyd, Ward and Associates…I’m just saying I think we could have done that…then we may have saved money!

Here’s the deal…..getting out of debt is hard. We signed up 2 years ago owing over 40,000! This week, we will hopefully settle our last debt! Yes, creditors call…yes, your credit rating sucks…yes, no one cares….getting out of debt sucks!!! We got sued by 2 creditors and are making payments to them at almost 100% of what we owed. We settled 3 accounts for 50% or less than what we owe. In the longrun…I’m not so sure we saved any money with having to make a monthly administrative fee to Lloyd Ward of 30% of what we had taken out of our account. But, we are soon to be out of debt. We have learned some valuable lessons….I’m not sure I would recommend this company to others…but I’m not sure if another company would do any better…I don’t know as I haven’t experienced anything like this before. Now it is to build our credit again and stay out of debt. The best way is to pay Cash for things as my father always said….if you don’t have the money…don’t buy it. Credit cards are evil…we relied on them for too much during a difficult time of layoffs and job changes….I hope we can put this behind and build a better, debt-free life. God bless you all who are struggling now….I know it is extremely painful!!1

To everyone who is complaining about Lloyd Ward you guys need to give it some time. It does take time for them to settle with your creditors. I had one of my creditors that I owed $2200.00 they settled for $864.00. I called my creditor and indeed they did settle and the account has been payed in full. Yes sometimes I do get calls from creditors I give them Lloyd Wards number and they dont call anymore. They are a company you can trust. People will allways complain about them. I dont have any connection with Lloyd Ward other than they are helping me get out of debt. It did affect my credit score but it is starting to get better. I have been with Lloyd Ward for a little over a year. My credit score has gone up about 100 points. I am very greatful for what Lloyd Ward is doing to help me get out of debt.

Lloyd I will be going to every possible site I can go one and complain and let people know about your crap of services… This I will do
Our debt account was taken over by Lloyd Ward & associates. Since that time we were sued by CC company. We faxed the summons to them and asked them to let us know what we needed to do. We never got a response. A month later we were issued a default judgement. We Faxed that info to them and got no response. It wasn’t until we received another summons for another CC account and contacted them again they provided us with some info as to what to do. Why didn’t we get this info on the first case? We now have a default judgement against us with another case approaching. This company has been no help to us this far. We are under the gun as far as other suits. The company that had our case prior to them guaranteed representation in matters. But we are getting no help from Lloyd Ward and Associates who are supposedly there to help us. If things aren’t rectified as far as this latest suit we will try legal litigation against them. We are not happy. If Anyone from that company is willing to help us it would be asppreciated. So far we have been blown off by them during the time they were most needed.

Steve,
I am currently enrolled in a program with Lloyd Ward and am going to trial on 7/20 for one of the accounts that they are supposed to be taking care of. I have contacted them for 2 week and had to file 2 extensions for discovery questions relating to the trial. Is there anywhere I can look for help to fill out the discovery questions because they aren’t taking care of it? I am now worried that if this creditor hasn’t been contacted, the other two in the program probably aren’t. Can I consider this a breach of their contract because they are collecting a monthly fee and not providing the service that they should? What do I do? Seek legal advice?
Thanks,

My official termination letter to LG is going out Monday.
Again people do yourself favor DO NOT USE THEM…….
well now it gets worse – i have been trying to call them and no answer – just rings and rings and plays music and i tried to log into my account and that website does not exist anymore – also they were suppose to move account from Noteworld to Global but I just logged into my Noteworld account and still active. I did just notify Noteworld to close my account and refund my money that they have, but have no way to notify Lloyd Ward that I want a full refund since there is no longer a website or phone #! However I did go on to the Lloyd Ward lawyer site since they have same address as my paperwork to let them know that unless I receive a full refund from them from my “fees” I will start filing complaints etc. Hopefully something will happen in my favor. In the meantime I have had a judegment filed against me and I could use that money to fix that situation.
I must agree about Lloyd Ward! I had the misfortune of signing up with them. They worked through Noteworld for the payments. Like all the other people have said they fill your head with promises that do not come true. Reduce debt by half, be debt free in a few years, depending on how much you put in the account. Creditor calls will stop in 60-90 days. Yeah, Right! Now I am getting letters from a lawyer for one of the credit cards and they want money & soon. I checked our credit report & the other was a charge off. Well, that is not good either. We did have a 700+ rating – not now. I tried to go through the card company but got no where with them. Then they put me in touch with their debt program. Well, I was going to go with them & tell Lloyd Ward to take a flying leap but once again I listened to them. They went through Noteworld and then I get an email saying they are now with Global Client Soultions. Well, my account it still with NoteWorld, I guess, and I did call them & what money I have in the account they are refunding. But, of course, there is no way to get a return from Lloyd Wardfor the $200.00 a month they kept out of my payments. No wonder I was getting no where fast. I tried to call Lloyd Ward and all I get is a message & music. Please hold for next available person or leave a message, after 15 minutes of the phone ringing & music I hung up. I sent an email & it came back. So I guess they have dropped off the face of the earth. The lady at NoteWorld said no more duductions would come out and the money would be refunded in 2 days. We will see, I hope she is right. So Do I try to go back to the card company now & see about getting this thing setteled? Is it to late because they have sent it to a lawyer? Please, tell me what you think.

I joined up with Lloyd Ward & Associates about a year ago and so far they have done nothing for me except take my money. My husband has negotiated on his own with one of our creditors and is paying that debt directly to credit card company. Now my husband just called me to tell me that there is a judgement against me from another creditor. Of course no one is answering any calls or emails and I am not sure what to do. After reading the reviews on here it sounds like I should cancel my account with them and try negotiating on my own. Can someone please direct me on exactly how to cancel with them so they do not get anymore of my money.

I am now freaking out!!! I have been with them for around 9 months. Have done everything everyone ielse is sayng. Ignored creditors. Just got served by two. They don’t call back!! I do not want to go to court. I have a lot of pride and I know I put myself in his position but I am trying to fix it. I wish I had never done this. I have screwed my credit completely up. Is it too late to get out of Lloyd Ward and settle with the creditors as best as can????

My wife and I have been with them since last August and all we have paid have been fees. They said that we have another 10 to 12 months of fees before they even start to settle with our creditors. When my wife calls to ask a question she can never get anyone one the phone or even return and email. Not happy here.

As you read my posting please forgive my poor grammar. This is not one of my strong suites and not required learning for an engineering degree. I first heard about Lloyd Ward via an internet ad.. I was in a desperate situation I was getting ready to lose my house, and in over my head in credit card debt. I reluctantly entered to the debt settlement with Lloyd Ward before I realize that there were other options available to me. i.e. the Federal Debt Relief. However that would have cost me slightly more out of pocket than I could have afforded at the time. There were 4 credit cards that LW&A started working on settling for me. I was anxious as they did this because during the “aging†process I was not paying on my cards. They are still in a delinquent state and have been that way since last July. I have even been threatened to be taken to court, by one of the credit card companies. However, I can say that LW&A has negotiated with one of the cards and are currently working with the other one. This means that there are still two cards out there that I have not heard anything from. I can tell you that all my accounts have been closed. As a result of that I noticed that my credit score has been getting slightly better. I am getting ready to withdraw some money from my 401k account to finish paying off the debt that Lloyd Ward is negotiating for me. In the long run I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. And it does appear to me that Lloyd Ward is making a difference. But I would like to point out that this was my fault, not Lloyd Ward and I believe that they are trying to help me out. If this changes I will update this site. I can honestly say that I have had decent customer service there, every time I call someone picks and answers my questions. They only person I have not been able to talk to and get what I need is the person handling my negations. But I was very pleased with Jordan helping me out today, and he was very quick to respond to my concern. But what I hope that anyone gets from this whole experience is don’t get into debt again.

did someone pay you to say that or maybe you work for them, because they are nothing but scam artists and need to be put out of business!!!!
I just got off the phone with them and am disgusted!!!! they continued to take my money even after the Oct 27 ruling by the FTC that said they could not collect fees upfront – I have cancelled my account with them – all i have to show for the $800 plus I paid them is a judgement issued on one of my accounts that they told my not to worry about – sent them the paperwork as soon as i got it 3 mos ago and they did nothing to resolve it!! every time I called I got a different person with different information – I guess I am lucky it wasnt more money, but i am currently unemployed and that is a huge amount to me and my family right now. I wish someone had warned me before. If anyone reading this is even considering using this company (by the way, they have “restructured” and call themselves Silverleaf now),take it from someone who found out the hard way, and stay as far away from them as you can!!!! they will do nothing for you but take your money and then give you an attitude when you question them!! I intend on filing complaints with the texas bar assoc, the FTC, the attorney general, and anyone and everyone I can to get the word out!!! Do NOT trust these people!!!!!! Stay away from Lloyd, Ward & Associates aka Silverleaf Debt Settlement-

Jordan Olsen from Frank Lloyd immediately replies to comments that he is ready to help. But after you contact him, its another run around the ‘mulberry bush’. No calls or emails are answered. Please join me in filing a class action suit. Let me know who wants to join?

Yes Mr. Jolsen – you say to contact you and you would help. I did and you promised to call back last week. Today I sent you emails and no reply. What is really going on here? Why are you promising to help, when you do nothing at all? Perhaps the media should expose the scams that your company is inflicting on unsuspecting people.
Yes Tom you are so right. The same thing happened to me too. They are supposed to be a law office and someone there told me that he would handle my case but does not return my calls nor reply to my emails. These are the biggest scam artists going around. If I do not hear from them this week I am going to the Media. Maybe they would like to see their faces on TV?
Mtominaga,
I will help in any way I can to resolve this for you. Please contact me at jolsen@lloydwardgroup.com
Maybe I should do the same. Creditors are calling me and this company has not returned my calls or replied to my emails?
I got all of my money back a few weeks ago from Lloyd & Ward and Noteworld. I would contact them and tell them that you will be contacting the BBB & filing a complaint with the small claims court.
Please do not use this service! I used them for 8 months and they never contacted one creditor. They tell you not to answer the phone and they will take care of working towards a settlement. In the meantime, your credit score continues to decline, your accounts go into collection and then to an attorney. They never answer their phones and when they do call it’s only to reassure you to “hang in there”. All the negotiation is done by you, and not their company. The credit companies will work with you before they will deal Lloyd Ward and Associates. Remember, they’re very good at making you feel as if you’re making a rational decision in a difficult market. I’ve contacted the Attorney General and FTC, but it’s not going to bring back all the money I lost. I could have easily paid off 2 credit cards in the money they stole from me. It’s been a nightmare.

Steve,
Thanks for your advice. We will check with him if we do not get any result with LWA in a month or so.
It’s really your call. Jordan jumped right on the issue so at least you can reach out to him if you are not getting a response.
My best advice, trust your gut. If you are feeling unsure you might want to schedule a consultation with Damon Day, a debt coach I trust, and review the entire situation to confirm you are on the right path.
Steve
Steve,
My BF has been with LWA for 8 months now. Two of his accounts are now in negotiation. The comments on this site freak us out. We were considering to cancel the program. Jordan Olsen replied to my post yesterday and today I talked to him on phone. He checked with my BF’s representative and negotiator and said everything is going well. It may take up to 1 more month to have a settlement. So far we do not have a problem gettng ahold of our representative. When my BF asked for proof to show that they contacted all creditors, they emailed us all the documents. So despite the anxiety, we decided to wait for one more month. Do you think we made the right decision? Thanks a lot for your time.

Call them up and request all of your money back. That is what I did. I took that money and paid off 2 of my creditors. Get out while you can!!!
I’m done with Lloyd Ward. I received all of my money back and paid off two of my creditors with that money. I wouldn’t get involved with any of these companies ever again. However, I did get the satisfaction that I was hoping for from Lloyd Ward (getting all of my money back).
Drea,
I would do two things. First is to read this guide I wrote on how to get a refund.
Second would be to reach out to Jordan Olsen and see if he might be able to help you get some answers. You will find his comments in this thread and he has given his contact information as jolsen@lloydwardgroup.com or 214-431-5963.
Steve
Drea,
Did you get any settlement with $3000 used for your debt? I am waiting for a negotiation results for more than 2 wks and I am very worried.
Steve I have been with Lloyd Ward & Associates for 12 months now. After getting $700 taken out of my checking account every month I only have about $3,000 to use for my debt. I have been served by one of my creditors and Llyod Ward is saying not to worry and they have done nothing to help me out of this debt. Is there a way to get the money that has been deducted out of my account? I could take this amount and actually pay off my creditors. What should I do?

I would call them and demand to talk to a supervisor. Make sure you document who, when & what you talked about. I sent them a certified letter stating that I was going to turn them in to the BBB & to small claims court. I got all of my money back. Don’t back down. I then in turn called 2 of my creditors and made a settlement within 20 minutes.
I called Lloyd Ward and stopped the monthly payments. I called and told them that I was going to call the BBB and file a complaint with small claims court. I called the person that was handling my account and told him that I would no longer be doing business with them and that I would like a copy of all of the letters that were sent to my creditors. He couldn’t even find my file. I then sent them a certified letter and stated who & when I talked to and what the conversation was between us. I gave them seven days to give me my money back and they did. I lost $40.00. I settled my accounts on my own within about twenty minutes.

What are you going to do the same BS I recieved from everyone in Lloyd Group. You people do not follow up. Your crooks and should be taken to trail for robbing everyone for services not provided.
Guido,
Did you notice there are two posts among these comments come from a guy calld Jordan Olsen? He replied to Rhardin and Thawgey3 on 12/27/10 and 12/30/10. He claimed to be vice president (not sure if it is real) and left his phone number and email address and willing to offer help. It might worth to try to contact him to see what will happen since nobody answered your inqury for 6 wks. Rhardin and Thawgey3, did you guys contact him?

Guido,
Very sorry to hear your story. unfortunately my BF already signed up the program, the only thing we can do now is to wait a while longer and see how things go. Did you cancel the program? Take care.
We also have had nothing but hardship since we signed on with Lloyd, Ward and Associates. They do not return phone calls. They do not follow through. Unfortunately we have been with them for a year. After 6 months, I called and freaked out b/c our creditors kept calling, calling, calling and nothing was taken care of. Lloyd, Ward and Associates had an answer for that. “Most people call and freak out in about 6 months. It will get better. Just hang in there.” We hung in there. Now we are being sued by one of our creditors. We sent all of the legal papers on to Lloyd, Ward and Associates. Our contact said she would contact their legal dept and get back to us. That was 6 weeks ago. We have heard nothing back from the legal dept. I call and leave message after message for someone (anyone) to return my call. No one does. I reported them to the BBB. The BBB wrote back and said the correspondence they sent to Lloyd, Ward and Associates was returned undeliverable. This company has taken about $3,000 in administrative fees from us. Supposedly they settled with one of our creditors. We got a statement from our creditor saying a payment was made, but we still owed the remainder of the bill. And to top it off, another public attorney is getting ready to sue us for the account that supposedly was settled!!!! These people are horrible. They deserve to rot in hell for the heartache they cause people. People who have no where else turn rely on them to help them with their debt situation. And Lloyd, Ward and Associates only takes advantage of the already broken people. We will be contacting the Attorney General. I can’t believe that they are even legit. We are from another state than they, so we cannot even go to the address to speak with anyone. Please, please, please DO NOT sign on with them. They will take what little money you have, and lead you into the worst financial storm you have ever been in. We will probably have to go bankrupt now. We were trying to avoid that. I hope people read this and STAY AWAY from these devils!!!!

Guido,
Did you notice there are two posts among these comments come from a guy calld Jordan Olsen? He replied to Rhardin and Thawgey3 on 12/27/10 and 12/30/10. He claimed to be vice president (not sure if it is real) and left his phone number and email address and willing to offer help. It might worth to try to contact him to see what will happen since nobody answered your inqury for 6 wks. Rhardin and Thawgey3, did you guys contact him?
I would call them and demand to talk to a supervisor. Make sure you document who, when & what you talked about. I sent them a certified letter stating that I was going to turn them in to the BBB & to small claims court. I got all of my money back. Don’t back down. I then in turn called 2 of my creditors and made a settlement within 20 minutes.
Thanks for your kind reply and advice. My BF is in better shape now compared to when he signed the contract last year. With his savings and upcoming tax refund, we have a good chance to settle lots of his debt soon. The only question remaining is whether LWA can perform as advertised. We would like to see the results of their first settlement, and then make our next move.
Thanks a lot for your kind reply again.
Tell them if u have $ to settle- They can negotiate knowing YOU have the money. Any company charging up front for settlement is NOT likely to do a good job. They simply dont care
GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!! WHILE YOU CAN!!! OR YOU WILL NEVER RECOVER!!!

Thanks Steve for creating this website. It is good to know that we are not alone and there is a place where we can communicate with others who are in similar situations.
My boyfriend joined LWA debt settlement program in May of 2010. The communication between himself and his caseworker M was not a problem. She would respond to his inquiries in a timely manner. However, after 6 months, he still got phonecalls from CC company/collectors. In Dec 2010, I started to contact M with his permission. I learned once he has $xxxx savings in the trust account, they can start the negotiation to settle two BOA accounts, which would be the easiest since they have a good relationship with the creditor. Instead of waiting for 4 more months to have the account naturally grow, I had my BF inform them that he could put extra money in the trust. On 1/10/11, after some paperwork, his case was sent to the settlement department. We have been anxiously waiting for the results since then. Until I discovered this website yesterday, we had lots of hopes and planned to put all the tax refund money into the trust, but now after reading all the posts, we are very worried if we could ever get a settlement.
If LWA cannot land a favorable settlement on the easiest account(s) with the creditor they have a good relationship with, there is no reason we would believe they are capable of settling other accounts. Our only choice would be cancelling the program and fighting to get his money back. Are there any successful settlement stories with LWA recently? Please share your experiences with us. We desperately need some hope. I will continue to monitor this website and have our progress posted. Also, is there anyone that has joined LWA after the new settlement law? If so, how does new program work?

Debt settlement companies do not buy debt
let’s face it folks, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. OK, so here’s what you do…if you can…go to the Dave Ramsey site…He offers some good, down to earth help on getting out of debt. Also, YOU can get the same results this company will give you…only faster, and you aren’t paying someone $3000 to pull your credit report and make some phone calls. Most creditors will settle for about 2/3 of what you actually owe. Basically, these guys are buying your bad debt, (for less than what is owed) and then getting you to pay them said bad debt, plus a fee. OK, so if you’re already in debt…hmmm…don’t continue accruing more debt by hiring another company. Again, you can settle all this on your own…Call the companies, be disciplined, live on Ramen noodles for a few months, sell whatever posessions you can do without and pay off your debt….Yes, it will be difficult…but…”All discipline, for the moment seems unpleasand, but in the end it yields the fruit of righteousness”. Debt settlement companies do not buy debt
I signed up with Simon & Bocksch a year ago this month. In December of 2010 I received a letter from Lloyd Ward & Associates stating that they would handle my account from now on. I was never notified by Simon & Bocksch that my account was turned over to another company. I got a phone call from an attorney that one of my credit card companies were going to sue me. I called to cancel my account with Lloyd & Ward and was told not to talk to the attorney & not to tell them that I was working with a debt settlment company. I did what he said and two days later I cancelled with Lloyd & Ward. I settled the account in one day by myself. I am now waiting for them to send me all correspondence that they supposedly sent to my creditors. If I do not receive something by the end of the week I am filing a complaint with the BBB and am going to take them to small claims court for the money that I paid them to do nothing. This is a total SCAM!!!

I am currently in a debt settlement program with Lloyd Ward and Associates (I decided to try this instead of bankruptcy when my wife and I separated/divorced) and have been pleased so far. Don’t get me wrong, I was nervous at first because of the phone calls I was getting from all of my creditors, however I had been told by the rep’s at Lloyd Ward that this would happen. As I was advised to do, I simply advised each creditor that I was being represented by an attorney and provided the contact information for the attorney’s office. The calls have mostly stopped (there are still some here and there as accounts have been turned over to collection agencies, but I simply give them the same contact information and they don’t call back) and I have started having accounts settled. Yes, the first 3 months worth of payments do go directly to the attorney but they tell you this up front. Yes, after the first 3 months a portion of each payment still goes to the attorney unil their entire fee has been paid, but they tell you this up front. Everything has happened exactly as I was told it would happen and at the current rate of progress…when the program is completed I will have settled around $60,000 worth of debt for around $20,000 plus $5000 in attorney fee’s. That’s an estimated $35,000 in savings, plus I will be completely out of debt, and all of creditors being paid in full (settlement) will go a long way in starting to repair the damage done to my credit.
The bottom line to me is that this is a long term type of program (my program is 36 months) and if you go this route you must be ready to make a long term committment. This isn’t going to get all of your creditors settled (and get you out of debt) in just a few months unless you have thousands of dollars to put in immediately. But if you make the monthly payments every month and tough it out through the entire program, then when all is said and done it will have worked for you. At least that’s my experience. If you’re looking for an immediate “quick fix” then file bankruptcy or maybe you’ll get lucky and win the lottery.

Hi, everyone, stay away from lloydwardlawfirm, they do nothing accept get your money and not only that their customer service is suck(they never response promptly to your call). When I join they told me not to response to your creditors, but send to lloydwardlawfirm all the debt collection document from creditors and then they wouldn’t response back to creditors, cause they said is the negotiation process( the longer you wait they more willing to negotiate for less 50%-65%) and they told me not to response. Five month later I find out the creditors get progressive, creditors sue me to get 80% of the total balances, which I did paid off all the debt collection plus the lawyer fees and also, creditors came to my house harass me to paid off the debl. Anyway, I have been worst experiences with lloydwardlawfirm, so I am sharing this worst experiences, so you out there stay away lloydwardlawfirm and be careful not belief what too good to be true is not. I would been better off negotiation with creditors myself, cause if you do they willing to negotiate with you, if you cooperate with creditor and they willing to negotiation with you.

The reason I am posting here about Lloyd Ward is because I have successfully completed their debit settlement program and feel obligated to let the public know they are trying to improve their track record and they have a satisfied client because of that.
Like I said in a previous post, I wasn’t completely happy with the service at times but when I brought it to their attention they promptly did what it took to make sure I was satisfied.
I do not have full details on Lloyd Ward’s new fee structure, all I know is that they supposedly made changes after the new law took effect this year.
Not saying you are all stupid, I just want to let you know I completed the program and in the end am a very happy client of theirs.
Oh, A B, please send your original executed contract over too.
The only positive posts here regarding LWA came from 4 different “clients” all sharing the same computer…. Seems odd. Nice touch adding the customer service “issues” though… Almost fooled us!
Why are you done with your debt settlement program, yet spending your time replying to different blog posts.
Why do you have information on Lloyd Ward’s new fee structure?
Why do you think were all so stupid?
Prove me wrong. Merry Xmas!
Really? Isnt this you too from an hour ago on a separate blog page here regarding LWA fees? https://getoutofdebt.org/17606/im-thinking-of-using-lloyd-ward-associates-for-debt-settlement-sid
“A B Today 12:27 PM in reply to Wo
I believe Lloyd Ward has also changed their fee structure from upfront to a performance based fee”
Do me a favor, you can confidentially send proof of your claim to Steve here: https://getoutofdebt.org/confidential-tip-form
If not, go away. This site is dedicated to “honest” help.
Prove me wrong- I dare you
With the help of Lloyd Ward & Associates (Best Debt Options) I have just recently completed settlement on four separate credit card accounts with an original balance of $31000 when I entered the program. In the end including fees paid to Lloyd Ward I ended up paying about 50% of the total balance to settle all the accounts. Not Bad!!!!!!!!!!
At one point there were some issues with the service they were providing me but when I brought it to their attention they promptly responded and fixed it.
They will get you the best possible settlement if you stay in the program and save enough money for settlement.
Thanks to everyone at Lloyd Ward that helped me get rid of my credit card debt!!!!!!!

Are you paying that settlement on top of the fees they are still charging you? I think it’s odd you say you had done 7 years of research yet were given to believe that Lloyd Ward was taking your payments and actually paying some settlement they magically had in place for you when you signed up- Do you know that nearly everything you’ve paid them has been taken by their up front fees? That because of that, by the time you wrote this you would have NO money saved?
Curious.
Good to know.
Be sure your settlement letters say it is for full settlement of the debt and never lose your copies of those letters. I’m seeing more cases of people having their balances sold and creditors denying they entered into a settlement agreement. Without those letters from the creditors you would not have any proof in the future.
I’ve been with Lloyd Ward & Assoc since April 2010. I’d researched beforehand what happens with your credit, the icky-poos for seven years, etc, when going with a debt relief company. I knew the escrowing of my money, the non-payment of my debt until the creditor wants a settlement or until I have enough to pay it off, the fees that debt settlement companies charge, the creditor calls and letters, the FICO hit, and a score of other information …. I felt pre-informed. When I talked with April Gabbard at LW&A, she and I spent at least an hour on the phone going over all of that — I asked every question I could think of, and even some I hadn’t (thanks to google and Legal Advice Forums). I knew what a settlement company would do to my credit. I’d already tried, on several occassions, to settle my debt with BofA and with Discover, both to no avail. They simply wouldn’t work with me.
I finally, after 4 months with LW&A, answered a call from BofA credit collections. The gentleman said he had no records of speaking with LW&A, and that BofA does not work with debt settlement companies. However, when I called Kelli Robinson at LW&A with that same information, I received a call and a letter from Kelli just a couple of weeks later, where she informed me that she had contacted the BofA person and things were proceeding. LW&A remains in contact on a minimum monthly basis. They call me and e-mail me, offering support. (It does make me nervous that my “representative” keeps changing.)
However, a few days ago, I got a faxed copy of the settlement letter BofA wrote to LW&A, and Ken Ortega from LW&A both called and e-mailed me to obtain my permission to accept the settlement. The settlement will be paid in three monthly installments, according to the BofA offer.
So…. I withhold final judgement but so far, no real complaints. I have access to my NoteWorld account online and can see the balance. LW&A has answered *every* e-mail and telephone call (albeit its not always from the same person).
I realize I’m the black sheep here and I most definitely say that if you’re not comfortable with it, then DON’T do it. When in doubt – DON’T! But my experience hasn’t been bad. Hopefully it will stay that way.
Two things have suprised me though, that I don’t remember talking about — Obviously I wasn’t 100% informed and knowledgeable; either that, or I’m a lot more forgetful than I thought.
Anyway, One, LW&A told me that I would pay “X” number of payments for “X” number of months. So I thought this was my debt settlement. I was suprised to see a settlement offer from BofA. The settlement offer is for less than what I thought I was going to end up paying. So I’m going to be watching that escrow to see what happens. I am also doing research on that wonderful 1099-C that I didn’t know about until after I’d signed up with the program (from a friend under slightly different circumstances).
The second thing is that I don’t recall asking if they have an agreement with BofA and Discover which states the balances of my settlements will NOT be sold. This is new information and I’m researching this, which happens to be what led me to this page.
Anyway…. Take it for what its worth. I can’t say I’d highly recommend these folks, but I can’t say I wouldn’t, either. I’d have to honestly withhold that final judgement until all is said and done. So far, they’re doing what they said they would do.

Good to know.
Be sure your settlement letters say it is for full settlement of the debt and never lose your copies of those letters. I’m seeing more cases of people having their balances sold and creditors denying they entered into a settlement agreement. Without those letters from the creditors you would not have any proof in the future.
Curious.
DOOPY, DID U GET ANY JUDGEMENTS AGAINST YOU WHILE YOU WERE WITH LLOYD WARD?…BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NOT GET ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THEM DEALING WITH THE CREDITORS. I’M REALLY WORRIED NOW.

I work for a collections company and we have had a few consumers who hired Loyd Ward and Assc.. They never picked up the phone and never returned a call. Our policy is to call companies like this for a month and if they don’t return our calls we send them a letter requesting they verify that they are still representing the consumer. If, after another 30 days, they don’t respond to our letter we resume collection efforts with the consumer directly (a policy well within complicance of the FDCPA). Loyd Ward and Assc has NEVER responded to any attempt to communicate with them let alone resolve a consumers debt.

Again, I am a debt collector. Now, have WE ever sued a consumer who went through Lloyd, Ward and assc.? I don’t know. If the consumer lives in one of the states in which we sue then there is an excellent chance that we sued them as LW&A has never settled an account to my knowledge. In fact the reason I’m back on this website today is because I was curious about new complaint as I just tried calling them mere minutes ago and the picked up and immediately hung up without saying a word. Makes you wonder what they REALLY do there. I’m beginning to wonder if maybe they should be investigated by the FBI instead of the BBB (which rates them an “F”)
You gave up on a 36 or 48 mth program in 6 months. Understand they do debt negotiations… If you do not want to give it time and be serious about saving money then you may need to either keep paying them as you were or do Chap. 13.
BBB is a scam. Go to http://www.bbbroundup.com
Steve you are offering no solution except for these people to cancel. Debt settlement is legit… hell the people can do it themselves. Its a service/process where you hire professionals to negotiate for you. Just like hiring a lawyer to represent you in court or a mechanic to change your oil…. these are services where you hire professionals, when people could do it themselves.
To everyone who reads this debt settlement is a process, if you can save money then you can save tremendously off your unsecured debt. This is something that in the end its an agreement between the client, the company, and the bank/creditor. Now I understand debt settlement is not for everyone, but it is definitely the best alternative to bankruptcy for those who can afford to pay something towards their debt.

Steve, they may or may not be different people. If this is Lloyd Ward’s office replying, all of their computers will show the same IP address to the Internet due to a standard network procedure called Network Address Translation, or NAT. I doubt they have more than one or two connections to the net, and every internal system would use the address of that connection. For example, I have 4 Internet-connected computers here on my home network, and all four show the same network address to the Internet because my DSL modem performs NAT. It’s how the Internet operates.

If you are unhappy with the refund offer you can always follow my refund process detailed here. How to Get Out of a Debt Settlement Program and Get a Big Refund.
I signed up with Lloyd Ward last March on line. Looked them up on Better Business everything semed fine. I was told by the representative that if I changed my mind I could stop and get my money back at any time. He told me it would be about 3-4 months of building my account up before they would be able to negotiate with the various clients, since they pay themselves first then work on your claimes. I was paying $550 a month, they gave me a HOT LINE number for me to give to my bill collectors and they would talk to them and let them know we were working on the case. Unforetunately, the collectors were never able to get through and had to leave messages that were not returned. Consequently I realized after 4 months that I needed to file Chapter 7 and called to let them know I was discontinuing with them and since they had not done anything with my collectors could I get refunded as I was told earlier. I could understand if they needed to keep the part of the money as their fee (every month they would take out a certain amount for their services-I guess paper work etc.) My total amount I paid into them was $1750.00 they said they were willing to refund me $550. only. I did speak to them numerous times but nothing that would cost me $1250.
I believe I was misled and I think debt settlements are nothing but a scam as I was told by my lawyer too late.

DO NOT use a so-called “Debt Settlement Company”!!! It’s the biggest gamble you will ever make and you will probably lose!!! You are gambling that a creditor will attempt to settle your debt instead of taking you to court and suing you. And when you are sued, you will face wage garnishments and asset forfeiture which means any money you have in a bank account will be subject to withdrawl at anytime by the winning party. If you really believe this is a final course of action for you then consider Bankruptcy over any so-called “debt settlement”. Otherwise, try credit counseling from a reputable company that can lower your interest rates and will begin applying ALL payments from first to last towards your creditors. They will not negotiate a lower balance but can negotiate a better interest rate for you and will include their fees into your monthly payment while keeping your account current and in “paid” status. Always check with the Better Business Bureau on any of these companies before making a decision. The main reason the BBB gives most “debt settlement” companies such a low grade is not because most of them are not members as these companies would have you believe but the fact they have a track record of failure and deception. You have to ask yourself…. “Why aren’t they members of the BBB?” There is no “magic wand” when it comes to paying your debts but there is safe and legitimate help as long as you take the time and do your homework. Best of luck to all!!!

LM,
Awesome. So glad you received exceptional customer assistance.
Did the sales representative explain that as of October 27, 2010 it will be illegal to charge you fees in advance of settling any debt? I just want to make sure you were informed of this so you could make a fully informed decision about enrolling before that date.
Steve
I have started debt relief program with Lloyd Ward, It was a very pleasant experience, the employee that helped me get the best program was great and explained the fees and monthly payments involved, I truly hope this is not a scam, I am desperate to get my debt taken care of. and this would be the last thing I would want to deal with after what my family’s been trough already!

If you really have no choice- as debt settlement should (in my opinion) be looked at as a last resort before bankruptcy, you would be behind with collections calls anyway!
If you believe the settlement co makes monthly payments, you are wrong (possibly lied to).
If for some reason you went with a settlement company that charges there fees BEFORE settlement, you made a terrible error & will likely get terrible results- Even worse, 85% (in our opinion) of these “front end fee companies” will shut their doors by November because of new federal laws- You will lose every dime they have taken in fees-
The sad truth is, because some of us do NOT lie, people believe the BS from the front fee companies and sometimes choose to go with them…. I would NEVER pay for a service that has not been provided- but Let The Buyer Beware!!!
Further, because of all of these SCAM companies, the SEFLORIDA BBB gave all debt companies F ratings, pledging to change them when-if the new FTC regs came out- That included ours- They had our Bonds, Contracts ( NO UPFRONT FEES), etc… We have an F here purely because of the industry- It was an A 5 months ago.
All of this will fade soon- NEVER PAY THESE COMPANIES UPFRONT FOR SETTLEMENT_ NOT LAW GROUPS OR ANYONE ELSE. THEY ARE BUILT TO TAKE YOUR $$$$. And take it they will.
If you read this comment and continue to pay fees to one of these companies, stop your crying- You have been warned.

a little update, creditors have stopped calling now finally, i haven’t heard from dell in two weeks now thank god. Though i still have not heard a word from them, i’ll still keep sending payments, because if they are not doing what they said they will, then trust me, i will get that money back.
omg I just signed up yesterday thinking everything will be peachy keen and ill be debt free in 2 to 4 years then i read this review on thme i am freaking out…should i close my account or what? im gonna call the guy who set it up right now and see if he answers…
THESE REVIEWS ARE ALL BLAME GAMES AND THESE PEOPLE ARE IN DEBT AND WILL BLAME ANYONE THEY CAN
Yes we are in debt…that’s why we hired LWA…duh! Usually when you pay someone money…you get something in return, right? Go figure!
It appears Lloyd Ward and Associates is now involved in a new enterprise. See this article.
Not typcially accurate in the debt settlement industry, unfortunately. If that were the case, we would be out of a job!
STEVE WORKS FOR CREDIT COUNSELING COMPANIES AND HE IS COMPLETELY DISHONEST, STEVE ARE YOU SAYING COMPANIES DONT NEGOTIATE OR ARE YOU SAYING YOU ADVERTISE FOR DEBT SETTLEMENT? YOU ARE NOT CREDIBLE SIR AND THIS SITE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
LLOYD WARD AND ASSOCIATES HAS NEVER LIED AND WILL GET ANY CLIENT OUT OF DEBT> ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MAKE THE CHOICE TO STOP PAYING YOUR CREDITORS AND ALSO DONT STOP THE PROGRAM AFTER A month? HOW POSSIBLEY COULD SOMEONE GET YOU OUT OF DEBT> BLAME GAMES STEVE
Steve,
Why are the posts from you, John, Marshall, and Jaime all from the same computer address?
Steve
Thank GOD I found this post. I was getting ready to pull the trigger and sign with Lloyd Ward…….they just made it sound way to easy. I guess I will try to find an alternative route….Thanks again for your post !!!! Shawn
They are great in the beginning, get right to you and getting you signed up. As time goes by, I find it very difficult to contact them by phone, they seem to have alot of trouble with their phone system. When talking to them, they give great insight and work well with you, getting you to calm down. I also am finding it difficult to digest their fees, which are alot. Holding funds in reserve is proving to be deathly to our credit report, so, going forward I’m very concerned if we will ever be able to have good credit.
I was going to sign up for Lloyd Ward & Associates, but then I read all the bad reviews. I saw the one about Fire International and gave them a call. So far they’ve been very nice and helpful. I do get creditor calls but I just tell them to call Fire International. They’ve given me settlement offers but I can’t accept them yet because I haven’t save up the funds, but I feel a little more comfortable knowing that they’re working on it. I would highly recommend Fire International for anyone looking for help with their debt.
I just signed up with Lloyd Ward & Assoc. today. After reading these comments I don’t know if I should cancel. Are these replys real? id you check with the BBB? I don’t know what to do now. Can I cancel this agreement with them?
You should be able to cancel. Any contract can be canceled as long as you follow the cancellation procedure. If they tell you they will take you to collections then be sure put a stop payment on any draft you have with your bank.
BBB is a scam. Go to http://www.bbbroundup.com
i promise you my story is for real llw has scammed me hard i am looking into bankruptcy now esp after what llw didn’t do for me get out
i started to sign with the July 20, 2010, something just wasn’t right and besides that I agree with Gary, I need a visual when dealing with my money. I have decided to talk to a lawyer and/or talk to a local debt repair. These stories are more than likely true. I absolutely love to research and this is a good site with motivation for the consumer to think twice and investigate further. GLAD I FOUND IT! I won’tbe accepting any more calls from Lloyd Ward!!
All you have to do is save the money and creditors negotiate
DONT LET ALL THESE BLAME GAMES STOP YOU FROM GETTING OUT OF DEBT
Why do you keep posting under different names, so far you have posted different comments as Jamie, Marshall, John, Steve, Andy, and Tom. I certainly invite all different points of view but what’s with all the pretending to be all sorts of different people?
Steve
All you need to do is save your OWN money in an acct and try to settle with your creditors yourself! You will be doing yourself a big favor by doing that and not entrusting any money to Lloyd Ward! Creditors WILL negotiate with individuals too and not just BIG BAD Law firms!
So i’ve been sending payments to these guys for 4 months now and still getting collection calls. The guy i signed up with everytime i call his number it just goes to voice mail. I called the 800 number again and it went strait to a person, his name is carl. Its been over 120 days and they said they should start calling the lawfirm in 60-90 days no me. Im starting to get scared.. he says dont talk to them cause all they are gonna do is just scare me. When should be the breaking point to when i should start talking to my creditors?
You were advised about collection calls and also 4 months is not enough time to get you out of debt
thats why u were put into a 36-48 month program
SO STOP THE BLAME GAME
I had to call my own debt collectors…I thought I was paying 300+ dollars for LWA to do that! Ha! Not!!! What a fricken scam!!!
What needs to be in the “in writing” cancellation statement to this company. This has me very worried. they haven’t taken any of my money and I do not want them to after reading the comments on this page.
You might want to read and follow my article How to Get Out of a Debt Settlement Program and Get a Big Refund.

Dear Steve,
After reading all these emails I’m concerned I missed God and made a big mistake! In Feb I contacted Llyod and Ward (Best Debt Options) to discuss my credit card situation. I had funded my start-up business through credit cards, and owed over $40,000. I was faithfully paying down the balances by sending minimum plus another $100 or so. Then, last summer – one by one – all my cc companies began sending me letters with ridiculous new terms. One card actually went up to 31.99% interest. I contacted each and every cc company – BEGGING them to lower these new rates. I even told them if they were unwilling, I would have no other choice but to seek debt settlement. Not one CC Co. would work with me – some of these cards I’ve had since the 90’s. I was NEVER, EVER, EVER late on any one of these cards until I started the debt settlement program. Now my FICO plummeted from the mid 700’s to the mid 500s! Regarding Lloyd Ward’s office – they have always been quick to respond to my phone calls. Today alone, they tried to return my call three times (I was in meetings so could not take the call). They finally reached me after 5 PM. I shared with them that I was concerned about the threats of law suits some of the CC companies have been making. I do have to say that everything that is happening is what I was told by Lloyd Wards office would happen would happen. I would get a huge number of phone calls – my score would take a hit – they were going to keep 100% of the money from the first three payments – and after the first three months a portion would begin building in my escrow account. I have now paid them over $2000 – and there is $600 build up in my account. One of my cc companies offered me a 25% debt settlement (not through Lloyd Ward – but to me personally). I took them up on the offer and that card will be settled in full in four months. I’m wondering if I would have been better off trying on my own to deal with these cc card companies after my cards all went into default. I’m not saying this because of Lloyd Ward not following through with the agreement – because as I said, I have found their customer service to be very good. I’m just thinking I would now have about $1500 more towards paying off these cards, if I had attempted this on my own. Steve – what would you advise me to do at this point? Is there any way I can salvage my credit rating? Honestly, if I had it to do over again, I would have just kept whittling away at these balances, hoping at one point to make larger payments as my business grows. Thanks much! Linn
I’m trying to find out about this lawyer firm, what can you tell me about them? we live in Santa Barbara, Ca and for some reason I”m a little bit suspicious about their services, but my husband is going to sign up with them. Are they members of BBB? help me please
All I know is everything that’s being written bad bout they told me up front would happen. The creditors call you, your credit drops, but that is what debt settlement does. I did my research prior too, I guess they were the least of all evils. I do know that an account I had with Bank of America was settled for about 1/8th of what I owed when I was only two months in the program. I still have my car and house and it’s alot easier to afford now that I’m with them. I’ll probably be getting out of this program alot faster than the 3 years I anticipated.
Yep, I’m going to have to call your comment horseshit and here’s why. I happen to know there is a link between you and the other commenter Jaime who also came into the site and posted a compliment on Lloyd Ward. I can see where you are surfing from and I can also see this is the only page you repeatedly surf on the entire site. My guess is you are trolling this page and revisiting it from time to time to post additional positive comments.
Steve
WELL, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PERSONS NAMED…BRAD, KASEY, RUSSELL BRANDON, BRIAN, ANGIE AND ASHLEY FROM LLOYD WARD ARE TROLLING THESE BOARDS AND POSTING HERE??? BECAUSE THEY ARE MOSTLY THE ONES I TALK TO WHEN I CALL. I AM REALLY FREAKING OUT HERE!!!!!
Just for the record, the comments here from John, Marshall and Jamie have all been posted from the same computer address from what appears to be Dallas, Texas. You should not rely on these comments and assume they are nothing more than fake.
I backed out at the last minute…Glad I did…Lotsa bad reviews on this company…It seemed if I didn’t sign up that same day that they were not interested anymore in me as a customer…suspicious looking….also
my email address was given out to a number of debt companies…I think I had ten the next day and 9 phone messages….Finally one company called and wouldn’t take my no for a answer, he finally told me to f _ _ _ off, that was an interesting reply…Goota do these things the “OLD SCHOOL” way, face to face with a client…no more of this phone/email/hitech bussiness
over the internet bussiness….there are so many people out there that will
try to take advantage of you…..The thing is, people are looking for a quick fix…and there aren’t any, and there are people out there looking to make a fast buck, and there are lotsa of those…….
I started sending money to Lloyd Ward in December of 2009. I have been making my payments and that is all. I have not heard much of anything from them. I do however receive several calls from the creditors. The latest call was from a collection agency threatening to call my employer and garnishing my wages. I was getting phone calls at work but after I called Lloyd Ward and informed them of this they said they would take care of it. The phone calls at work stopped so I assume they handled it. I have paid a lot of money out and now have read several poor reviews, I am very stressed and worried that I have made a mistake!
I started in Jan 2010. Same thing, after informing them I was getting phone calls at work, they said they would take care of it and the calls stopped. They warned me upfront about the initial phone calls from the creditors, but they have died down like they said they would. I have been getting settlement offers, but not sure it’s because it’s from their work or just from me not responding. Although, Lloyd Ward has always been very responsive. I always get a call back right away or an email confirming they have received my faxes. But still, I have read several negative reviews and don’t know if I’ve made a mistake and should cancel.
Yes, you made a BIG mistake. It is than a scam. I paid out over 5,000 dollars to them. Lost every penny. They could not provide proof that they contacted any of my creditors. The creditors say they noever received letters from them. I fired them. Sent them a certified letter, got a sigbned receipt back so i knbow they got the letter. 6 months went by and they only called one creditor who turned down their offer. Then THEY called me to ask what should they do next. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
You gave up on a 36 or 48 mth program in 6 months. Understand they do debt negotiations… If you do not want to give it time and be serious about saving money then you may need to either keep paying them as you were or do Chap. 13.
Lloyd Ward & Associates was the worst. I signed up with them in March last year. Shelia called me a dozen times when she was trying to get me to sign up. After she got my payment, I never heard from the company except if I would call them. The creditors kept calling me and saying that they did not hear from them. Lloyd Ward & Associates said that they had been trying to reach me but I did NOT have any messages. After two months of this run around I canceled and lost my two payments. I had been receiving sales calls from FIRE International the whole time. I decided to give them a chance. I got a lot of collection calls exactly the same in the beginning and the creditors said that FIRE International was not calling them either, but FIRE was calling me with updates. Even though Chase said that they do not work these companies or that they had not been called, FIRE International settled my first account with them in August! I’ve since settled another account and am SOOOOO HAPPY! The calls have slown down a lot and I don’t mind the few that I get because I know that FIRE International will take care of the other ones.
Lol Fire interantional, biggest scam in the history of companies
Make sure you notify them in writing 10 business days prior to your next payment if you wish to cancel. ALSO all your fees paid to date are non-refundable- per the contract.
They are not people that you want to deal with for debt settlement. Your credit rating will go down and if you want to cancel make a copy of the note you send “in writing” because they will try continue to charge you each month and you may have to close out your account that is automatically withdrawn from. It is a hassle, learn from my mistake and try anything else out there besides this company. They will give you the run around and you will not see your money back, I guarantee there is nothing you can do to get your money back.
I’m curious about this as well. Clearly I’ve read nothing but bad comments about them. I’ve been with them a few months and want to make sure whether I should stay with them or not.
I finally tracked ABC Debt Relief Ltd. in Dallas TX (tied to Lloyd Ward and Associates) on the Better Business Bureau site. The have an “f” rating and a poor track record in general.
I’m so glad I took the time to research them, because I was about to commit to utilizing their services. I’m in dire need of assistance and I’m still tempted, but my gut says stay away.
Here is the link to the BBB info:

BBB is a scam. Go to http://www.bbbroundup.com
stay away they scammed me for $4000 and i was still served with papers from a creditor saying they were going to sue me not only that are now threatening to garnish my wages llw did NOTHING to help me just took a huge amount of money from me
GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!! WHILE YOU CAN!!! OR YOU WILL NEVER RECOVER!!!
This is illegal and looking to see what I can do besides calling the state bar, BBB, blogs post my own warning’s on craigslist, backpage and where ever i can and link this site to them for people to be aware of this SCUM for a company
please contact me at classactionllw@hotmail.com
All you have to do is save the money and they will get you out of debt. In debt negotiation you are told upfront about the creditor calls and to save the money. People complain because they want someone to blame. Too funny really.

Steve, I went with the lloyd ward group in March. They have paid nothing on my accounts and I am getting bad news from the creditors. they have taken nothing from my bank yet. Can I go somewhere else??
What do i tell my creditors??
Judy,
Call Lloyd Ward and cancel. You might want to change your bank account number to prevent any withdrawals.
If you are already getting bad news from your creditors then maybe debt settlement isn’t the best way for you to go.
Steve
CANCEL FOR WHAT? TO DO CCCCS
Again steve you are misleading these people, are you saying creditors dont negotiate?
No. I’m saying she claims she got bad customer service, nothing had happened on her account and she should look elsewhere for better service. I also said that “bad news” from her creditors might mean she should look at other options.
Steve
Because A-hole, LLoyd Ward and Ass, are the the rip off company of all time. Three thousand dollars later, I negotiated my own deals with my creditors, Lloyd Ward NEVER contacted 1 of my creditors. They are BOGUS!!!
I just cancelled with these people after 6 months of them doing nothing. I stopped paying into the trust after 4 months so they only got me for 1200 bucks only haha. They claim they were waiting for settlement offers to come in after contacting my creditors. Baloney. I called all of them and made my own deals and they had never been contacted. As the 6 months went by my debts raised and went to collectoins plus lawyers. When I looked at the trust it had a zero balance and they had done nothing except take my money. They sent out no letters to stop callers or did not contact one of them which they said they did. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and of course they were out of the office at 3:30 pm. Suppose to be a law office but it is a scam office. I say be hponest make your own deals with who you owe and stay away from credit cards .
You should go to the media…sounds to me like a bunch of rotten-to-the-core rich lawyers who steal poor people’s money and go play golf!
please contact me at classactionllw@hotmail.com
You said it all for me, they are scam artists and will tell you anything, take your money and
when I paid off my debts myself they kept my money and won’t return it , they did nothing,
I simply changed my mind and didn’t get a good feel for them…and all I got was send a email and tell your story well yu can imagine , I get nothing..they just keep your money and did nothing , good iz left when I did or would be out much more..I’m still disabled, and can’t work
I hope someone reads this and avoids they cold hearted bastards…Carol
,

I am very sorry that you did not receive the service you felt was needed. Please contact me at jolsen@lloydwardgroup.com or 214-431-5963 and I will help out in any way possible.
Here to help,
Jordan Olsen
Yes Mr. Jolsen – you say to contact you and you would help. I did and you promised to call back last week. Today I sent you emails and no reply. What is really going on here? Why are you promising to help, when you do nothing at all? Perhaps the media should expose the scams that your company is inflicting on unsuspecting people.
please contact me at classactionllw@hotmail.com we are going to try and do just that. I think this has gone on long enough.
Please contact me if you decide to go to the media.

Stay away from Lloyd, Ward & Associates aka Silverleaf Debt Settlement-
Melissa I have to agree with you the Lloyd people are dropping the ball on my file.
Melissa ur situation sounds similar to mine, LLoyd ward assured me that after paying them for 3 years i would be debt free that they have worked with my creditors and know how to work with them to reduce my payments, well after 2 1/2years i have paid lloyd ward almost $4000 and was being sued by one of my creditors, the only person willing to talk to me and explain anything to me is the girl who answers the phone i was so irate with the “Lawyers” no i am contemplating bankruptcy i mean my credit is already screwed up so at this point why not lloyd ward got money that i coulda sent to my creditors so i think that they have scammed way too many of us
shame on them i hope that people who are thinking of signing on with them read these posts and think twice, there has to be a better way i wish when i signed on with them i would of had a chance to read some of these posts
I thought this company was amazing! I put all of my debt into this company and they settled all of my accounts within 5 months! I saved 14,000.00 and thats more than what I was told I would save at first!! Yeah, the creditors calling made me nervous at first and plus they told me they dont settle with that company. But then they told me not to talk or listen to the creditors so I tried that. Alittle over 5 months later I had offers on all 3 of my creditors and I accepted. I had to come up with alittle bit of the money if I wanted to settle right away (which I did) but I didnt have to. They would have just drafted the money every month until there was enough.
Anyway I loved this company and I would recommend it to ANYONE and EVERYONE.
How long have you workd for them? They are a scam. We have been with them since December 09, they have taken our money, creditors keep calling, even my parents. They say they hae not heard from these people. I asked for copies of the letters they sent to the Creditors and they could not come up with them. They never return my calls. Then I get an email saying they hae been trying to contact me. THIS IS A SCAM. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
Steve
All you do is talk , you advertise for debt settlement and you talk about other companies like you know them. Everyone is advised about collection calls and they save the money into there own Trust ACCOUNT
BLAME GAMES
jamie, See my comment to Marshall where I out your comments as horseshit.
Just for the record, the comments here from John, Marshall and Jamie have all been posted from the same computer address from what appears to be Dallas, Texas. You should not rely on these comments and assume they are nothing more than fake.
i think they work for llw and are posting those comments as part of their jobs i don’t believe them llw took over $4000 of my money that i could’ve sent to my creditors and not been served with papers that i was being sued i have to find a better way
and I second Steves comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horseshit!
did someone pay you to say that or maybe you work for them, because they are nothing but scam artists and need to be put out of business!!!!
Jamie, You and I know you are full of shit!!! obviously your Dad works for these lying leeches. ESAD!!!
u must be the only one good for you or do you just work for them and are posting this as part of your job?
please contact me at classactionllw@hotmail.com
My dad told me he was using Lloyd Ward over a year ago. When Dad couldn’t get a car loan I got suspicious. I called Lloyd Ward under the guise that I needed debt help. This is how they explained their operation. Of course, they sugar coated it, but this is just a straight forward explanation.
They take your money and place it in an account. They pay nothing to any of your creditors. Your CC accounts are allowed to go so far past due that they go to a third party collector. Once an agreement is made with a third party (pennies on the dollar) Lloyd Ward pays from your accumulated, liquid account. If your CC company does not sell to a third party collector your debt increases dramatically and Lloyd Ward just keeps your money in an account under his control. He waits for a third party deal while you owe more and more. Now, this is just speculation on my part, but if Lloyd Ward has control of thousands of accounts, why would he just let them set idle? I speculate that the monies are being invested in money market accounts, annuity payments, etc. Another speculation: Lloyd Ward is making a lot of money on the misfortune of others
