I Keep Getting Direct Mail from Payment Relief Center. – Tracy

“Dear Steve,

I have a lot of credit card debt and keep getting direct mail pieces from debt mediators, like Payment Relief Center

What do debt mediators do and are they a scam? I would love to pay off my debt asap. Also, any information on Payment Relief Centers?

Tracy”

Dear Tracy,

Payment Relief Center describes themselves as a debt settlement company.

While everyone would love to pay off their debt ASAP you need to spend some time looking into the effectiveness of the different approaches. My advice would be to start with this article, The Truth About The Success Rates, Failure Rates and Completion Rates of Credit Counseling, Debt Settlement, and Bankruptcy.

There is no magic wand to getting out of debt. The best path out is to apply the most appropriate solution based on the underlying situation.

Are you unable to make your monthly payments or have you been late on payments?

Please update me on your progress by posting updates here in the comments section of your question. I’m very interested in how this works out for you.

Sincerly,
Steve

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

  • Hi,
I too have been talking with a company called nationwide Debtdirect. It truly does sound too good to be true!!! They basically are saying they will be able to make my credit card debt payed off in 36 months. That sounds wonderful, they say we are to stop paying the cards etc…
Im very concerned that my credit will go out the window. Please help me figure out what to do
