If I call chase to negotiate a settlement of this $8,000, and I have about $5,000 on hand. will they negotiate low enough that I can pay them off. I do not want to go through a lawyer. but do it myself,…What are your thoughts here.

Eric”

Dear Eric,

If you are currently delinquent on this debt they may negotiate with you. There is no reason you can’t do it yourself. But before you make the first move I would strongly suggest you get a consultation with Damon Day to get some specific advice and education about how to best do this based on your situation. You’ll also get some advice on how to best do this so it does not blow up on you later.

Please update me on your progress by

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

  1. Dear Eric & Steve,

I had considerable debt with Chase also and can happily report that Chase was one of the first and most cooperative debtors when I got into financial difficulties last year. I was able to set up a 5-year pay-off plan with an extremely low interest rate. Give Chase a call and work with them directly.
