From our friends over at the Consumerist comes this nugget from a reader.
I have been unemployed in Oregon for a couple of months. Oregon uses US Bank to distribute funds and gives beneficiaries a visa debit card in which is deposited their funds every month.
We needed a printout to prove I was receiving benefits so my wife went into the local US Bank. She was denied by three separate people at the bank, including the manager. She was told that US Bank did not consider unemployment beneficiaries to be real customers of US Bank and we can not be served by tellers. – Source
How ironically bitter it must be to be treated like that when your money is in their bank.
Sincerely,
You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

It sounds kinda mean by US Bank, but I bet the contract Oregon has with US Bank specifically excludes providing customer service for those accounts.
This is common in the software industry- a company will sell software but get a discount by agreeing to provide the customer support for the software to customers when they sell it to them- just look at your users guide for your computer. Microsoft does not provide support for their own software, you have to call Dell, Gateway or whatever brand your computer is for the support.
In other words- the state of Oregon should be providing the support not US Bank! I am sure Oregon wanted to make the deal as cheap as possible for them which did not include US Bank customer service so now you know who to blame.

This is so appalling I doubt the validity of the story. Please get this on video and post on Youtube. You’ll get some customer service then.
