I have about 3 charged off accounts totaling about $4,000, they are due to “fall off” my credit report in about 2 yrs or less, but i have collectors calling and threatening legal action against me. I dont have money to settle on the spot, i was wondering if setting up a debt management plan w/ a credit counselor would be better than filing for bankruptcy ?
My main concern is the effect either option would have on my credit score/ report and any plans to obtain credit/ loans in the future ?
