  1. Repeated calls, threats such as ” if you don’t pay me now I will destroy your credit, sue you and you will go to jail!!!” I told them that they can not do that or threaten me and then I was told with a huuuuuge attitude I might add ” so are you going to give me your checking account information so we can solve this issue and save your credit and keep you out of jail?” and when I said no I was told ” well sir you made the wrong decision, you’re going to be very sorry!”  then I was hung up on. That was 2 weeks ago, Since then I have not received any more phone calls and I have yet to receive even one mailing from them. If you receive a call from these scam artists do your self a favor and just hang up and block their number from calling you!!!

    • Hi I have Rights,

I am no collection agency apologist – not by a long shot. This thread is about Zwicker & Assoc. If you were told you could save your credit and threatened with jail by a collector at Zwicker you would do well to contact a consumer attorney with experience in representing consumers who are victims of debt collection abuse. If you could post a comment reply with what state you are in, I will try to locate one or two for you in reply.

Having said that, I want to point out that zwicker collects legitimate debts for several major credit card issuers. In some of that effort they are also authorized to file suit and to connect with other attorney collection firms for filing suit in pursuit of collections.

Hanging up and blocking calls will generally not be a method that will yield great results.

While your experience can certainly qualify as an entry into 2012’s annals of “Debt Collectors Behaving Badly”, others who find this page in the future who are seeking information about Zwicker and how to resolve past due debts should be cautious in following your advise.

If anyone is a victim of collection abuse, you have rights and should pursue available options to protect them. You will also have opportunities to resolve legitimate debts by working directly with Zwicker if you choose to and have the financial capacity.

  2. Got repeated calls from Zwicker and Associates. I called the firm talked to a lady. I told her I do not have any outstanding debts with any business including credit cards. I checked my credit score with all 3 credit bureaus and I do not have anything outstanding.
I began to ask the lady questions and she got all upset and very rude.
My last four SS numbers were not even a match to the real debtor. I asked for the companies location and she didn’t want to give it to me which I can understand with all the crazies in the world. When I asked about how she got the telephone number she told me she had 5 different phone numbers listed for me which is wierd since their were three different area codes and I have only lived in one state with one area code all my life.
I asked to who the debt was owed to and she told me she couldn’t tell me since I may not be the right person. Well OK but that shouldn’t be privileged information if they are calling me to collect.
I asked if the phone calls will stop and she not until the attorneys did an investigation. So I asked if the calls will keep coming for a month or more and she said maybe if the investigation isn’t complete.
The I asked her the amount of the debt and she could not give me the amount, which shouldn’t be private info since it was only a dollar amount not a name or SS #.
I asked her if she sent out letters or some type of notice for this debt and she could not answer me.
By now she was really rude to me. I guess I am not suppose to ask questions. She finally said she couldn’t answer anything more and hung up on me.

If the phone calls continue I am going to turn over to my attorney. I hate to spend the money on a bogus debt but I don’t see any other solution if they keep up the calls to collect on this debt.
Unfortunately I have a common name and there are many peope with my first and last name in this country.
I asked her for the middle name since she only mentioned my middle initial and she said she couldn’t give that info out. I at least wanted to know if the middle name was actually mine since my middle name if from a great grandfather from the “old” country and very few people in the U.S. would have this name.

I would never give your checking account or SS # to these people as I personally do not trust them as it looks like they are trying to get money from anybody eve if it is the wrong person!

I think this law firm or debt collection agency is questionable in operational procedures as they obviously did not do their home work and check a little deeper.

  4. I work for them and they do some pretty shady things. If you have ever gave them your bank information you may just wake up one day with nothing in your account. They have been hitting bank levy’s pretty hot and heavy the past couple weeks.
