Moving Forward Radio Show: Inexpensive Vacations

Welcome to the first installment of the Moving Forward Radio Show with Pam and Amanda!

We’re going to try and sit down once a week or every other week to put on a show for you about tips on moving forward with your life, saving money in every day life.

For our first show we talked about inexpensive vacations. Since we’re just shy of summer we thought it would be an opportune time to discuss different options for vacations. The most talked about option was cruising. Taking a cruise with the family doesn’t have to break the bank and can be a cost-effective way to see different places. We discuss different sites we’ve used for booking cruising and showcase some of the deals you can find. Some that are mentioned at VacationsToGo.com and Cruise.com.

If you book a last minute cruise for your family you can really save big! The biggest thing to remember when going on cruises is to mind what you spend on the ship. Your room key also doubles as your credit card, which a lot of people tend to forget. Forgetting this CAN lead to a high tab at the end of the cruise to settle on your room. However, if you keep in mind that this flashy little room key is also your Visa or MasterCard you can really save a lot and think twice about certain purchases.

We also discuss other family vacation options like utilizing the “Escape” deals from Living Social and watching Groupon for local getaway deals.

If you’re going on a road trip remember to always pack the car with snacks and drinks to save from pulling over and buying fast food! You can stock up before leaving home and not have to shell out money towards overpriced, unhealthy snacks along the road.
