Did I Make a Mistake With Lloyd Ward and Associates and the Debt Answer?- Claudia

“Dear Damon,

I have been paying into an escrow account with Lloyd Ward and Associates through a web site called the Debt Answer. Today, after 2 yrs of paying into this account I find that for all this time I have been paying to them first and also a maintenance fee, and only now I start actually accumulating towards the actual escrow.

I have only one creditor and I am worried I made a bad decision. Can you ease my pain?

If I did make the wrong decision, how can I fix it?

Thank you

Hello Claudia,

I wish I had better news for you, but the only option you have is to cancel the program and ask for your money back. The problem is getting a full refund is very unlikely. Sometimes, they will be unwilling to give you anything back.

So your choices are, do you stay with the program and hope they can actually settle the debt, or do you cancel, try and get a refund, and hope you can get enough of your money back to contribute towards a settlement with your creditor.

Basically this is a total scam in my opinion. All of your money went to sales people. Essentially nothing as been done for you while they have been taking your money. There is nothing they can do until they have money available to settle.

So the question is, what have they done to earn all of that money for the last two years? Certainly they were not upfront with you that they would simply be pocketing your money.

Now you are two years behind on your debt, you are at a much higher risk of being sued, and it is likely going to be another year or two before you can save enough money to even settle the account because all of the fees they have stolen from you through misrepresentation. So how exactly are they helping consumers? All they have done is made your situation worse.

If it were me, I would cancel, and fight like you know what to get as much money back as you can so that you can try and resolve this debt. Whether you stay with them or cancel and get a refund is a complete gamble at this point. They have put you in a no win situation and made sure to cover their own butt regardless of what happens to you.

If you think you want to cancel the program, you can set up a consultation with me through my website. I can tell you want all your specific options are going to be at this point given the situation they put you in. I of course can’t make any promises but I can help you request a refund as well if that is the direction that you decide to go.
