Most money news tells you what happened. I tell you what to do about it.

Every weekday I read the enforcement actions, filings and fine print the outlets skip, and turn them into the one or two moves that actually improve your position — a rate worth moving for, a fee you can refuse, a deadline to beat before it costs you.

In the latest issue (Sep 15): A number you don’t look at is not an asset

I write Your Money Actually most weekdays — actionable money information you will not find anywhere else, and the small decisions that compound. It is free, I sell nothing, and I take no money from any company I write about.

Company Description

“Progressive Debt Relief was formed in 2005. The ownership of Progressive Debt Relief has many years of experience in the debt consolidation industry. The Progressive difference is centered around the clients we represent. Most companies in this industry are sales oriented and profit centered. Their primary concern is the bottom line of profit. We have a strong belief that if we build a structure that creates a positive end result for our client, we will be better off in the long run. Most companies denote success by the volume of business they bring in, and invest as little as possible in customer service. Our commitment to the clients we represent begins from the moment we are contacted for help until the last debt is resolved. Our counselors are trained to objectively evaluate your case, while arming our potential clients with the pros and cons of their choices. Each choice comes with trade-offs and different fee structures. You need to pick the one that is right for you. In some cases you may decide to handle your debt load by yourself, and we will help you get started. The flow of our customer service department centers around a responsive and helpful customer response team, quick and constant communication with your creditors, and a professional and efficient negotiating department. “Commitment to the client” maybe a cliched phrase, but the application of this principal is entrenched into the foundation of our company and can be observed in the day to day operations of our business.” – Source

  1. good morning everyone. read up and maybe learn something. in 2019 I agree to pay 300. every month to debt relief and I am so proud of my commitment . I was over 9,000 dollar in debt and Progressive had communicated with me always as well as myself with them. come this February I will have almost all my old debt paid and settle for far less then I would have at other places. progressive are very open and transparent and communicate with me always so I highly recommend to any one who really wants to settle their debt its up to you but I trust this company and staff.

  3. Yes, this company is the absolute worst when it comes to collecting fees vs. paying your creditors. I know of several “clients” that paid in more than $5,000 and Progressive paid their creditors $0

You’d be well-advised to pay your creditors by negotiating your debt yourself.

  4. i have paid in to your company 1432.90  and you have gotten more that half of the money for service fee  that does not seem right  i thought you were going to save me some money and take a fee for your company but i did not know it would be half of what i pay in
