Looking to Purchase First House. Is My Credit Good Enough? – Mark

“Dear Steve,

My credit was messed up when my wife had to quit her job because our son was born at 25 weeks, and was in the hospital for a couple of months, and now I am just getting it back on track.

I am looking to purchase my first house and have scores of 672, 608 (still showing a collection i paid off), and 686 and have already qualified for my VA certificate, do you think I would qualify for a loan.

Dear Mark,

I think you can get to a place where you qualify for a loan, if not right now.

First, I would suggest you find a local loan broker that represents a number of different lenders. They can fill you in on the current possibilities and opportunities considering your credit scores.

But at the same time you might want to read and follow my guide, How to Easily Rebuild Your Credit and Have Good Credit Again.

Please post your responses and follow-up messages to me on this in the comments section below.
