On December 9, 2011 I posted a press release from Morgan Drexen about an issue in Alabama, here.
The press release stated:
In recent weeks, prompted by a creditor the Alabama State Bar raised concern that Morgan Drexen’s services constituted the unauthorized practice of law. After an investigation on the matter the State Bar quickly closed the matter and stated that, “Morgan Drexen is free to continue its business practices in the State of Alabama.”
In light of the Morgan Drexen Utah snafu, (see Utah Not Happy With Morgan Drexen Press Release About Licensing) I thought I’d just confirm the issue with the Alabama State Bar.
The Alabama State Bar responded with, “The statements enumerated in the press release cannot be attributed to the Alabama State Bar.”
They also supplied me with the letter they issued about this matter dated June 14, 2011. – Source
Further inquiries to the Alabama State Bar about more recent issues in the weeks before December 6,2011, as stated in the Morgan Drexen press release, concluded there were none. The Alabama State Bar states the June matter was the only matter they have considered.
It’s just very curious why Morgan Drexen is trying to make news out of an event that happened nearly six months ago and calling it a recent investigation. I’m certainly not saying it’s nefarious, just odd.
