Mark Silverthorn Law Review: Is It Legit?

Quick Answer: Mark Silverthorn’s debt relief operation raises legitimacy concerns, as the Better Business Bureau assigned an F rating to his Kitchener office and searches found no registered businesses under his claimed company names in New Jersey or New York. The inconsistent office addresses and incomplete website with “coming soon” placeholders suggest potential credibility issues.

A tipster (send in your tips here) was filling me in on a cross-broder debt relief effort between Michael Lupolover, an attorney here in New Jersey and Canadian attorney Mark Silverthorn.

The firm is Silverthorn & Lupolover Lawyers, LLP and is located at:

Silverthorn & Lupolover Lawyers LLP
30 Duke Street West, Suite 1001
Kitchener, ON N2H 3W5

Silverthorn & Lupolover Lawyers LLP
180 Sylvan Avenue, 2nd Floor
Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632

(A search of New Jersey registered businesses could not locate a registered company with this name.)

What really jumped out at me was the F rating the Better Business Bureau gave Mark Silverthorn for his operation at 30 Duke St W Suite 1001, Kitchener, ON N2H 3W5 collection-calls.ca

Talk about harsh. The guy only has one complaint and he’s already got an F rating. Whew! – Source

The firm appears to specialize in debt settlement for Canadians, or at least that’s what the logo says:

It looks like Silverthorn’s website either does not get a lot of traffic or is only focused on debt settlement. Under debt relief options, FAQs, and the blog, all it says is coming soon.

It is interesting that Silverthorn has an office with Lupolover in New Jersey that he lists but on his own site at collection-calls.ca he says his U.S. office is at:

Plaza Suites Building
534 Delaware Avenue, Suite 416
Buffalo, NY 14202 – Source

But when searched, the State of New York has no registered business by the name on his site of Mark Anthony Silverthorn Law Office.

Oddly Mark Silverthorn’s own bio does not make mention that he’s eligible to practice law in either New York or New Jersey. Maybe he is?

  2. Wow,  according to the BBB this is why he has a “F” rating:

“Failure to respond to one complaint filed against business”

Typical pompous lawyer cant even be bothered to respond to the concerns of a consumer…

  3. I’m a bill collector in Canada, I have nothing good to say about Mark Silverthorn, his law practice is about as shady as it gets.
