  1. I got talked into a Babies r us credit card with the come on of a discount on the item I was purchasing. I put the check in the mail 5 days before the deadline. I was surprised to find a late charge on my next bill of $27. Is it standard practice for Babies r us to hold the check until past the deadline, then charge a late fee? You know the old saying, “Fool me once…”
    The card has been snipped! Babies r us just lost a future customer and anyone else that I can convince!

  2. I have had the Toys R Us for several years with Chase. I loved getting the gift cards as rewards for shopping. The switch to GE Capital is not what I expected. Now, they issue coupons in $5 increments for rewards instead of the gift cards. The coupons have expiration dates that are within 2 months of receiving them. I went to spend $20 in coupons today at a Toys R Us store on a $24 purchase and the system would not take my transaction correctly. 20 minutes later and 2 associates, she finally gave up and just manually subtracted the $20. I hate the coupons! I want the gift cards back. I am no longer using this credit card and will close it soon!

    • I also HATE GE, their service stinks, just try calling them & see how long it takes to speak to someone. I was assured after calling in 5 x to try & find out why I hadn’t received my reward cards, they said there is a delay because of the company switch, but I should get them anyday, when they arrived several months later I was short more than half of the rewards owed to me, they skipped the month where I had over 10k in charges, which I paid in full. I am short hundreds of $ in rewards, all calls have resulted in me always being told we’ ll check it out & call you back. They did call me back once only to assure me the rewards are in the mail, it took over 6 months to get them. After been told nothing will change as far as the rewards go, I now know everything has changed they now expire in a short rime & you can no longer use them for gift cards. I have now gotten a new card with another company, want nothing to do with GE. I had been with Chase for around 20 yrs, never had a problem of any source, never was late with my payment, but last month I sent a complaint letter in with my statement to GE (1st time I ve ever complained to a co.) and the response I got was a charge for a late fee & a letter that still didn’t answer the question where’s the missing rewards!

  3. I just applied for this card online for the free shipping, 10% off your order and bonus points for the holidays. Was approved instantly and accidentally closed out the page with all of the account information rather than pressing print. It was my error, but then spent the evening on the phone with GE being transferred back to TRU back to GE back to TRU and two hours later was told to go into the store to print out a temporary shopping pass which will have all of my info. on it. No one could help me. I even attempted to re-apply but that did not work either. All I needed was my account number. They do not offer this information online, nor would e-mail it to me.
    Went into the store and codes on the temporary shopping pass did not work online- there were way too many numbers. Store manager, after verifying my identity, said they don’t have access to it. (it was a barcode only- not credit card number)

    Arrived home furious, called and convinced GE to contact TRU to let me place an order using the credit card (which they still would not give me account information for) We went item number by item number, only to discover half of the items in my cart were gone. I became extremely frustrated and asked the very patient customer service representative to just cancel it all.

    While I understand it was my error to close out a page, it was an evening of frustration and continuously being told to talk to someone else without any back-up system. There is very poor communication between GE and TRU. Why couldn’t they place my order to begin with before I traveled to the store?

    I lost out on my 10% off for today and now have another open account on my credit that I will never use.
