Christian Debt Consolidators / A New Horizon – Consumer Complaint – 6-22-2012

Consumer Statement:

In August 2008 I contacted Christian Debt Consolidators about help with interest rates, etc on my credit cards. They tried pushing me to a plan that would cut the balances so I didn’t have to pay all that I owed, I did not want to do this as I did owe that money, all I wanted was help reducing the interest rates. So they moved me to A New Horizon, who managed the account since that time. Part of the agreement was that I would get my $1200+ down payment money back at the end of the contract. Well, I am glad to say the I am at the end and debt free, so I contacted Christian Debt Consolidators about how to start the process of getting my money back.

I spend all day on the phone and in meetings negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with the largest IT companies in the world, and I have never talked with such a rude (un-Christian) individual. He says there is a new form and policy that went into effect a year ago that needs to be completed before I can get my money back. I do not have this form so I asked for it to be sent to me, he would not do that. I went looking for my contract with them, and all I have is the New Horizon contract, and I don’t remember ever receiving a counter-signed agreement back from them. So I asked for that to be sent to me. He was amazingly rude, and would not send it.

Basically they are in the business of scamming people out of their deposits who are looking for help, very sad that they hide under the “Christian” name.

While I would really like to get my money back I am sure that I will not see it again, as I am sure they have a loop-hole built in somehow that will prevent it, which I can’t prove as I do not have the paperwork.

Consumer Action Taken:

I have emailed three times requesting information on how to start the process of getting my deposit back, they have yet to respond to any of those.

I called and finally spoke with a gentleman that made it clear, they have no intentions of returning deposit money.
