I was living in london for a year, after I came back to my country, I knew that my room mate never paid the rent to our land lord, i was in the warranty´s papers
How I can know if i am in a list for debtors in London???
There really isn’t one place where people who may owe a debt are listed, besides your credit history, there is the insolvency register with the government’s insolvency service, their web site is www.insolvency.gov.uk. But unless you were made bankrupt, you would not be listed there.
Was this the only debt you left behind in London? How long ago was this? Are you planning on returning to London? Can you afford to pay the remaining rent?
If so have you spoke to the landlord or your ex-roommate to see what the final outcome was?
Your landlord may have done nothing, in which case all is fine. If the landlord did try to pursue you for the remaining rent, they may have had a court case filed to obtain a CCJ or County Court Judgment. If they did this, with you being outside the UK, there is very little they can do.
You could inquire with the local courts where you lived to see if a case was filed, but that really is about it. You’re best speaking to your ex-roommate or landlord to see what happened.
Let me know what you find out.
