I had been a New Horizon Credit Counseling Service Customer for about 8 years now. Just recently they went out of business and they offered to transfer my account with them to another credit counseling agency. I filled out paperwork that was sent to me by A New Horizon agent 3 different times because they claimed that they had not received it. I made my September 2012 payment on-line as usual for the amount of $245.13. When it was time to make October payment I noticed that the website for A New Horizon was down. I proceeded to make my credit card payments with my creditors so I wouldn’t get charged late fees. That is when I noticed none of my 3 creditors I had on the counseling program received September payment. I finally found the company that I was suppose to get transferred to and the agent there told me that they have been numerous complaints of former New Horizon Customers of paperwork not being sent to new agency and last p ayment not being distributed to creditors.
Consumer Action Taken:
I e-mailed the agent that I had been in contact in regards to new agency paperwork. E-mail had been turned off. I have called and left voicemails to A New Horizon multiple times to no avail. I will be going to my bank to try to recover my funds.
