“Dear Jon,
just recently received a parking fine from aberdeen city council.
after attaching your ‘legal notice’ ticket that prohibits anyone attaching anything to my car without prior written consent, i recently had a parking ticket attached to my car in aberdeen while the vehicle was parked on a quiet street and causing no obstruction.
my question is, ‘what do i do about this/’
i am considering writing to the council to inform them of my intention to seek legal advice pertaining to their paarking attendants unlawful attachment of this document to my car, but i figured it would be a good idea to contact you first.
Graeme”
Graeme,
I don’t usually advise on matters such as this, but would think contacting the Aberdeen Council is a good start.
What was the ticket for? What was the offence if you were legally parked and not an obstruction?
I am unsure about a “legal notice” prohibiting anyone from attaching anything to your car would stop a traffic warden from doing their job, or stand up legally against the fact if you were or were not parked illegally or did not pay a parking fee. This is more of something you may wish to speak to a solicitor about.
Regards,
Jon
