Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief – Review. Are They a Scam?

Company Name

Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief

Our Impression of What the Company Offers to Consumers

My initial reaction is their claim to be able to improve your credit score for an advance fee seems to run into trouble with the Fair Credit Organizations Act.

For a company that’s been around since 2006, they don’t appear to have spent any money on web development. The site looks very amateurish. But that’s just an esthetic thing.

This review is only for their information related to student loan services. But as an aside, while I was on their site I was disappointed with the tainted information on their debt settlement page about bankruptcy. In my opinion the information is used in a misleading way as a scare tactic to push people into debt settlement. It is not factual.

Company Information

Company currently has a D+ BBB rating with 40 consumer complaints in the last three years.

Our file contains a pattern of complaints from consumers who allege that Nationwide Consumer Debt Relief fails to fulfill services. Consumers have claimed Nationwide Consumer Debt Relief deducted monies from bank accounts for the purpose of paying creditors, but failed to make the payments to creditors as agreed.

Nationwide Consumer Debt Relief has responded to these complaints by issuing credits and refunds to consumers.

On December 17, 2012, BBB sent certified correspondence to Nationwide Consumer Debt Relief requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.

On January 9, 2013, Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief addressed BBB’s concerns. Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief stated when these complaints started the company had a major software virus that caused some client payments to be processed and disburse out to their creditors on time. Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief sent out notices to clients and clients’ creditors to inform them of this issue via email, phone and direct mail. To help prevent this from happening again Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief has a full time IT department that is now in house to monitor software 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief has also hired more employees and upgraded to software that will allow the company to conduct full reviews for client accounts every 30 days instead of every 6 months.

BBB will continue to monitor the complaint activity of Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief and update the business review as needed. – Source

  1. I had Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief help me consolidate my federal student loans. They were a great help. I must have spent hours on the DOE website trying to figure out which consolidation loan would be best for me. I contacted the DOE to see if they could help me. The person i spoke to was no help and I felt like I was being rushed off the phone. This is when I decided to contact Nation Wide Consumer Debt Relief. They were able to have my loans taken out of default which allowed me to go back to school and get more funding. I would recommend this company to anyone! They charged me a flat fee of only $399.00 with a 100% money back guarantee. Oh, and they did explain that I could consolidate my loans on my own for free.I then explained to them i had all ready tried and it was a nightmare. Best $399.00 I have ever spent.

    • Jon,

So your comment came from the same area as the company is located. Either you live in Hollywood, FL in zip 33020 or you are posting a fake testimonial from the company. Which is it?

      • That’s correct tough guy. I do live in the area. From the write ups that I have read about you within the last hour, its seems that most of your postings about different companies in general are fake.

  2. Apparently you do not know that Nation Wide can be used both ways. Nationwide or Nation Wide. They both are correct! I’m not sure what type of education you have. It doesn’t look like you have one based on some of your past post.
