Single Mom of Three. No Child Support But Student Loans. – Lisa

“Dear Steve,

I am a single mom of 3 with some college, am getting no child support, and several years ago made it three quarters through lpn school only to get booted out because I wasn’t fast enough in clinicals. I have a mountain of student loans. To top it off I work at Arby’s as a prep person.

Is there any way to get the student loans erased through bankruptcy?

Lisa”

Dear Lisa,

There is a narrow group of people that are most likely to get their loans discharged through bankruptcy. See How to Really Discharge Your Student Loans in Bankruptcy.

You can click here to find a local bankruptcy attorney and talk to them for free about your specific situation. Get the facts and then you can make an informed and educated decision if bankruptcy is right for you.

The other issue is if you are eligible for child support but not receiving it, please contact your state child support agency and see what they can do to help you.

If you are unable to discharge your student loans with bankruptcy then read The Ultimate Guide to Dealing With Student Loans You Can’t Afford.

Please post your responses and follow-up messages to me on this in the comments section below.

Sincerely,

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.
