Get Out of Debt Guy - Steve Rhode

My Bipolar Boyfriend Killed Himself But Ran Up My Debt Before. – Bonnie

“Dear Steve,

My boyfriend was living with me and about 1 week before it was to be our one year, he committed suicide. He survived for two years in a vegative state. He passed away 2 years ago and I am stuck paying his debt that he racked up on my credit card, by buying tools and then pawning them to gamble. I found out that he was bi-polar after the fact. I had to get a loan from the bank and I have been paying this loan monthly. IS there anyway I can eliminate this debt? He had no will and no savings and his parents aren’t helping me at all.

Can I legally emliminate this debt?

Dear Bonnie,

I’m so sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve faced.

Since you allowed him to use your credit cards it is your debt.

I can certainly understand how the debt spiraled out of control with his bipolar issues. It is quite common for people in the manic phases to spend without control.

With his gambling issues it’s clear he was facing a number of demons.

You can legally eliminate the debt by seeking protection under bankruptcy.

You can click here to find a local bankruptcy attorney and talk to them for free about your specific situation. Get the facts and then you can make an informed and educated decision if bankruptcy is right for you.
