A reader and tipster (send in your tips here) in the debt relief industry forwarded me an email they recently received from Brite Solutions Financial Solutions that makes the dumbest claim, unless you want the FTC and CFPB breathing down your neck.
The email to signup new Brite Solutions affiliates says:
“Higher Commissions : FTC Compliant : Easy Sale

Is your current provider A-Rated and Accredited with the BBB?
Is your current provider delivering the level of service your clients deserve?
Brite Solutions is!

You must be sure that you are offering the safest program available, not only for your clients, but for your business as well.

Brite Solutions is a no advance fee settlement company that complies with FTC and state laws
I don’t know if you work for Brite or not but the FTC does not take kindly to people advertising they are “FTC Compliant” and in fact has taken action against several companies that have said so. There is no way for Brite to know they are compliant with all FTC regulations and thus can’t make such a statement.
To the contrary the CFPB and FTC want to see good operators in the industry and if one should be so bold as to make sure they are covered left to right and up and down no agency is going to take an issue with that. They can hunt down those that are not being forthwith.
I think by “Performance” they mean no advance fees. Could of been worded better.
