“Dear Steve,
I have a cash advance loan currently in collections
This loan was under my name only, however the collection agency has reported this
collection with a credit reporting agency as a joint account and is showing up in her credit report. how can we get this out of her credit report?Manuel”
Dear Manuel,
This should be fairly easy to clear up.
Have “her” get a copy of her consolidated credit report. This consolidated credit report will show you what each of the major three credit bureaus are saying about this debt. Follow the dispute process contained in the consolidated credit report.
If you have it, be sure to include a copy of your cash advance loan paperwork in your dispute to show it in your name only. Give the credit bureaus as much evidence as possible to let them see that it is not being reported correctly.
