  1. my husband and i are having the exact same problems with first horizon as all of you are.
we’ve left countless messages with no response.
we’ve spoken to countless people in the overflow call center who neither have the knowledge or the authority to assist us with our problems.
first, our house went into foreclosure and was set to sell at auction on jan 4, 2011.
we were advised by one of the call center idiots to send in the hardship package in order to stop the sale of our home, which we did on dec 22, 2010.
we faxed in the documents over 30 times and NEVER heard back from anyone.
we ended up filing for bk in order to stop the sale and then finally received a response via fedex on march 22, 2011.
count it people, 3 months later, 3 months!!!
the package included a repayment plan but, of course, the calculations of the repayment plan were incorrect by over $700/month.
so…..we attempted to call them again and again and again finding each time that we’d get the same overflow call center who took messages and promised that someone would get back to us.
    no such luck.
then today, we receive another fedex letter stating that our loss mitigation assistance was denied because we didn’t respond to the letter that was sent to us in march.
we also received another post on our door stating that our house is to be sold at auction on may 23, 2011.
we have spent the entire day trying to get someone on the phone that is willing to help us but have not been able to do so.
the only solution that the overflow call center idiots can give us is that we need to resubmit the hardship package.
which, of course, will likely take another 3 months to get back but our house will be long gone by then.
    imagine that!
we’re at our wits end and have ordered our pod and will start packing up our belongings to move to a house we don’t have.
the reality is that we’ll probably end up living out of our cars until we figure out where we’re going to live.
    isn’t life grand!?

  3. Linda….I am dealing with this exact same situation! They will NOT return my phone calls and promised to work with my husband and i to get back on track. The promised me that they would put our delinquent payments on the back-end of our mortgage and modify the loan. Ever since I faxed the requested documents they won’t return my phone calls! Today, I get court papers delivered to my door! How are things for you now as I see your post was from 4 months ago. Any progress?

    To Maria Torres:

    Dear Ms. Torres:
My name is Linda S. Zehrung
    My account number is 0042073981.
You called me back March 13, 2010 and told me to fax you some papers and I did you told me that you would lower my payment by April 16, 2010 payment. When I called you to make sure you got the fax you would not even return my calls. I call you almost every day for 2 weeks and you would not return any of my call. That is NOT good Business for any company to act like you and not return any of my calls. So I am going to see an attorney and see what my rights are, I do believe that I do have rights.
I didn’t mean to have a stroke and get into this mess and, it was not my fault that the attorney stole all my money in my bankruptcy case and I should not have to pay twice for me getting sick. I have prove that I wanted to keep my house and I paid my attorney to keep my house. Then I have paid you twice the payment for 24 months. I know that this payment can be lowered I hardly have the money to pay my light bill gas phone bill food any of it because of this payment and I have a severely handicap child. You have cause us both a great hardship because of this $1,655.45 payment. when my place won’t even appraise for what I owe on it.
Maria Torres I think you are a poor business personal for not returning any of my calls, and for not getting this payment lowered even

  6. You are never going to hear from Corie unless you call hime at 5am (mountain time). Even then it’s iffy.
The only time you will hear from him is if he is faxing you a counter offer or an approval. Even then he will often send the approval to some mystical fax number that connects to Jupiter. So you have to stay in touch with the short sale department. I call every three days whether they like it or not.

  7. Faxing the short sale documents to the loss mitigation deptartment is unfortunately not the best way to get anything to First Horizon. I work short sales, lots of them, and First Horizon has by far the worst turn around time of any of the banks I have used. I have been working a short file with Corie Pyburn, Loss Mitigation Specialist, since November 19th of last year. My advice is to MAIL everything to them at:

    First Horizon Homes Loans
    Attn Loss Mitigation
    4000 Horizon Way
    Irving, TX 75063
    Mail Stop 6207

Always put your account/loan number of every single document you send to them.

I use these phone numbers to contact them:
    Corporate Office: 877-844-8789
Default Resolution Dept: 800-707-9998 ext 33805
    Other: 800-364-7662
    Fax: 214-441-7382 OR 214-441-7390

    Good luck!
