I received a call from Ms. Olivia Bennett stating that she had a warrant for a return check for ACE Payday loan taken out in 2010. She went on to say that I needed to pay $690 or a warrant would be sent to the local jurisdiction. She acted concern and stated that the company had been trying to reach me via telephone, and mail which I told her I had not received any correspondences about a return check. Being stupid I provided her with my credit card information and sat up payment arrangements.
After thinking about it, I contacted my bank and was able to stop the payment from going through. The next day she contacted me from a different number 903-285-6059, informing me that the payment had declined. I informed her that I knew it would decline that I contacted my bank and had them stop the payment.
I asked her were the information was that I had previously asked that she send me, what the name of her company was and the address which was AFS Legal Services, 155 Northlake, Pasadena CA. I went on to ask her how she was based out of CA and the initial call came from a VA number and the next day a TX number she indicated that the calls were being transferred to her.
I informed her then that I was going to contact the company directly about a loan and that I was not paying. She acted as if she was upset and got an attitude and stated that she would let the attorney know.
The elaborate system these people have includes transferring you to a 3rd party verification company that processes the credit card payments through National Payment Processing, 3482 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084 678-860-0976.
