Consumer Statement:
I was enrolled into Success Link Processing via Financial Rescue LLC on December 2013. I was told by my friend about the owner Rod Mercado from The Filipino Channel talking about his services so she called and enrolled with them.
I was already enrolled at CCCS, when she told me to get out of that program and move to Financial Rescue. I did not know that the 2 companies were owned by the same person until lately another friend told me that Rod Mercado owns both companies and that they are using negotiators who are stationed in the Philippines.
I was puzzled by this because my first thought was how can they settle out debts when the negotiators are on the other side of the planet? I enrolled a total of 9 accounts of which they included 1 account that I told them not to since my son uses it and pays for it monthly.
I have 6 months left on my 24 month program and they have only settled 1 account as I compared them to my credit report. They keep insisting that they have settled 2 accounts but cannot show anything for it.
Being very skeptical that this company can take care of my debts I called the other day to cancel my program. I spoke to a person named Angelina and I asked for a refund of my money and she became very belligerent on the phone.
I told her my friend says their negotiators are in the Philippines that’s why nothing is happening with my debts and she kept saying we are here in Milpitas, California. In my defense I already looked up more about their company and have seen the help wanted posts on the internet and these are all in Manila, Philippines.

Just the other day I called Angelina again to ask for my refund. She passed me to her manager named Jennifer who had more attitude. What is wrong with these people? don’t they know that people have to work for their money and I cannot give it away. Jennifer wants me to sign a release before she returns my money. She is holding my money hostage and wants a release before refunding me money that they did not do any service for.
It seemed that after they collect the fees they lose interest on continuously helping you. I find it hard that on my total debt of $8,998, I have to pay fees total to $5,174 and to only settle one debt. That has be illegal. I also read according to the Federal Trade Commission, it clearly states this:
Advance Fee Ban
The Final Rule contains specific requirements for debt relief providers related to charging an advance fee before providing any services. It specifies that fees for debt relief services may not be collected until:
• the debt relief service successfully renegotiates, settles, reduces, or otherwise changes the terms of at least one of the consumer’s debts;
• there is a written settlement agreement, debt management plan, or other agreement between the consumer and the creditor, and the consumer has agreed to it; and
• the consumer has made at least one payment to the creditor as a result of the agreement negotiated by the debt relief provider.
Based on this ban, it seems that Financial Rescue/Success Link Processing is running an illegal program. They call it a legal program by adding legal insurance from Veritas.
The only debt settled was $1,099. The fee for that should only be $186.83. As of now I have paid $2,724.25. I would like to get back the fees for unsettled debts of $2,537.42.
Consumer Action Taken:
I’ve argued with Angelina and her manager Jennifer but they just keep passing me around. Now they want me to sign a release.

Not a very nice to work for. It is a one sized work place. Management need to take some management courses. Management does not look out for the employee. All they care about is money and how they can get it from their clients.
If your accounts are 120+ days late you will no longer qualify for a debt management program (pay 100% of your debt at lower interest rates). Remaining options are to meet with a local bankruptcy attorney, do-it-yourself negotiations restructure payments / settlement with your creditors or hire a no upfront fee non-attorney debt settlement company. Based on your fee schedule you enrolled $8,998 with a $303.54 mo pmt for 24 mos, estimated savings of $1,713.19 or 19%. A non attorney debt settlement program using the same 17% service fee would be a $294.79 mo pmt for 18 mos, estimated savings of $3,691.84 or 41%.
