Consumer Statement:

I was contacted by Advantage Student Loan Consolidation through the mail. I received a card saying how they could help me lower my loan payments and eliminate my debt after 10 years. I called them and spoke to someone by the name of Michael Gear. He told me the process would take about 45 to 60 days to finalize and that I must scheduled to have payments automatically drafted from my checking account in 3 installments of $233.00. I never heard from them anymore and that’s when I decided to call to see when I would start making the low monthly payments.

Consumer Action Taken:

I tried to call the company to discuss the payment plan, but the number always said they were closed and to call back during their normal office hours Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No one never answered the phone and I was always calling during the time frame quoted on the phone.
