Beacon Student Loan Services – Poof!

Written by Steve Rhode

A reader reached out to me about a company called Beacon Student Loan Services. They were curious what happened to them since after they hired them the company stopped communicating with them and the website is gone now and phone goes to voicemail. They say they’ve been unable to get in touch with their representative, Jay Wendell.

Well here is what I was able to find out but if anyone has more information, please comment below.

Beacon Student Loan Services

The website for Beacon Student Loan Services is/was and it is registered to:

Jay Wendell
Beacon Student Loan Services, LLC
2136 Ford Pkwy
Saint Paul, MN 55116
[email protected]

The last snapshot on the site looks like it was back in May of 2015 and looked like this.

You know, for a company that says they have helped “tens of thousands of consumers” I find the lack of information online paints a different picture.

Interestingly the State of Minnesota has no company listed under Beacon Student Loan Services that is or was registered to do business. But other information lists the company name as Beacon Services Group, Inc. out of Delaware. There was a company named Beacon Services Group, Inc. registered in Delaware on September 30, 2014. The State of Minnesota does have a listing for a company called Beacon Services, LLC and the address listed for the company is the same one associated with the company.

And it looks like the address associated with the company was just a mail drop.

Jay Wendell says he is still a Student Loan Debt Specialist at Beacon Services Group, Inc dba Beacon Student Loan Services.

That information says Beacon was “interfaced with the Department of Education and licensed and certified with (the “governing/certification association” for our businesses).” But when asked, the Association for Student Loan Relief said the company has not met it’s obligations in over a year and they have never been able to get a hold of them and the company has not participated in any meetings, events, or association calls.

It looks like Jay was still actively involved with student loan services as recently as February 26, 2015 when he published this article.

So to answer the question, I’d suggest the reader reach out to Jay directly to resolve the issue and if that does not seem to work then I would suggest reading How to Try to Get a Refund From a Debt Relief Company.

But I would always start with giving the company a chance to correct the issue before unleashing the nuclear bomb.

Oddly there is yet another active website, that says it is Beacon Student Loan Services. They site claims services are 100% guaranteed and lists a telephone number of 612-413-6887. They also claim to be the best in the industry.
