Consumer Complaint: I sent Grant & Weber a letter for a debt validation. Grant & Weber did respond via mail, but my concern is that Grant & Weber has completed a major HIPPA violation along with the original creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX . Grant & Weber is an law office or so they say and I am sure they know of the HIPPA laws or so they should. Grant & Weber has yet to provide me the original contract that I SIGNED WITH THEM. Grant & Weber has clearly and willfully broken HIPPA laws. My medical information is personal and should remain confidential between me and a medical provider. Grant & Weber is in a clear violation and have no permissible purpose divulging protected health info to anyone on an account. I intend to file a compliant with DHHS OCR against Grant & Weber as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for this violation because my information is protected by the HIPPA laws and when a hospital sells a debt, they are only suppose to sell the debt, and NOT my personal medical information, no details!
