Consumer Complaint: Because I did not understand the business of interest on my account with HomeDepot I recieved a statement with a balance of XXXX and XXXX in interest fees attached. The new balance is now XXXX . This account was for a new roof on my home.i called the HomeDepot office and explained that I obviously did not understand the no interest fee. I was told I had to pay {$900.00} rightway or {$430.00} monthly.I explained I was unable to pay either amounts and was overwelmed by the new increase. I was told to call back last tuesday with a solution ( XXXX ) but a lady from HomeDepot called me on monday ( XXXX ) and told me under the hardship program I would have to pay {$240.00} a month starting XXXX XXXX . I did not have to pay for XX/XX/XXXX We talked for some time and I told her repeatedly that it would be very difficult for me to pay even that amount.I explained that I was a senior on ss and a pension. To make a long story short I asked wh y wasn ; t info rmed of the balance and that I did have a problem with the roof when some of the shingles came off and had to be replaced. She kept telling me how sorry she was for my problem. But this was the only hardship she could offer. I told her I could’t believe someone could n’t have called me sooner. She kept insisting that I give her a answer for the {$240.00} a month, so I said I would try and pay it.She stated I would not be able to use the credit card and I told her that I would not use the card and not shop at HomeDepot ever again. This is the essence of my problem
