Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to satisfy a collectio n with Fox Collection company for {$91.00}. This collection was originally a bill from a XXXX office, that I did n’t know existed. The XXXX office may have tried to send me a letter, but I had moved houses and never r eceived anything. No further attempt was made to me, nor did I realize I owed any money. Now the Fox Collection Center in Tennessee owns my {$91.00} debt from XXXX /2015. I found out about this collection when a mortgage company ran my credit. Because it was medical related, I was told by the mortgag e company that I did n’t have to pay this prior to closing, but it may be be wise to look into it further and try to have it deleted. I called Fox Collection Center, and they told me that they do not have a company po licy to delete collections if they are paid. Based on my research online, if the collection is not deleted, that the updated, paid, collection will actually bring down my score. I find it very frustrating that they are not willing to help me settle my debt for a {$91.00} XXXX bill I knew nothing about. Personally, I find it criminal for a collection company to do something like this. I have read a lot of reviews about this company on google and yelp, there seems to be more frustrated people besides myself. That ‘s why I ‘m posting a compliant to you, the CFPB. Please help me understand if they are allowed to keep this collection on my account to hold againist me for future purchases, or if I should be allowed to have it deleted. Thank you
