Consumer Complaint: My Name is XXXX XXXX. I am the holder of 5 Student Loan accts. the total payoff is approx. 41K, however the amounts that the loans total seems to be XXXX. This is due to late fees and penalties. ( Which is understood ) GC Services is the debt collector I am dealing with and am told they are in contract with the US Government to provide collection services and/or solutions for the borrower.
I initiated a phone call to determine what needed to be completed to consolidate all loans into 1, further asked if there was a program that I could enter to establish a path fwd, Discussion initiated ( XX/XX/2018 ) with GC services. I was informed ” pending confirmation ” of my verbally stated Salary my payment would be $ XXXX/month for 9 months at which time I would have completed my REHAB requirements and have the ability to consolidate or XXX.
In a follow up phone call ~2 weeks later I was informed that the offer presented on the last phone cal was not available anymore and I should start again.
This XXXX XXXX XXXX practice of bait and switch has continually existed for the duration of my payments ( which I have made since XXXX or XXXX.
Additionally I made a complaint with the department of education in XXXX concerning these practices and GC Services.
