Consumer Complaint: Im contacting you based on a letter I received from Convergent for a bill they claimed I owed to XXXX XXXX . I spoke with Convergent after receiving their first letter. They told me I owed {$60.00} for an early disconnection fee and {$18.00} for the cost of shipping the equipment back. I gave Convergent my debit card and told them I would pay {$60.00} for the early termination fee as I did close my account with XXXX XXXX early but I dont agree with the return shipping charges. Simply put if XXXX XXXX wanted me to pay the shipping cost of returning equipment why would they send me a box that had shipping prepaid? When I opened my account with XXXX I also dont remember agreeing to this as well. I explained this to Convergent when I paid the early termination fee so I dont understand why they would send me a letter stating their investigation process will not begin until I provide more information. I dont understand why I have to prove I owe this! Doesnt Convergent need to prove I owe this debt if I believe it to be invalid? I do n’t understand why my conversation over the phone was not sufficient to dispute the debt. Thank you for your help in this matter,
