Consumer Complaint: On XXXX / XXXX / 17 I received a credit report monitoring update that a collection was place for {$240.00} through Allied Collections with no contact information for this account, no previous attempts to contact me through mail or phone. I call the company at XXXX . They are located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , NV XXXX . I spoke to XXXX at XXXX XXXX on Monday XXXX / XXXX / 17. He informed me the debt was for {$240.00} with XXXX XXXX XXXX I then informed him I was never contacted by his company, he said a letter was sent out earlier this year, to an address I do not live at In a town I do not live in. I also informed him this company is not even licensed to practice or lend in the state of Michigan. I have been dealing with illegal debt collection from this company before and the CFPB knows this and has deleted this before. I was given an email address of XXXX XXXX XXXX to dispute the claim. I sent an email immediately demanding that it be removed from my credit report in the next 24 hours. I then came here to file my complain as this company has illegal debt collection practices. 1. Trying to collect a debt with no proof of debt, from a company not even licensed in the state of Michigan to give out loans.
2. Not notifying person ( myself ) that a debt was trying to be collected, allowing me to dispute said debt.
3. Reporting negative on my credit report in behalf of an illegally running company.
4. Not checking on the company they are doing services with to make sure the debt collection is even legal.
